Abstract:
The present invention concerns methods and systems for gathering data concerning usage of media data provided from a predetermined receiver to a user. First data concerning usage of the media data is gathered by means of a portage monitor carried on the person of the user. Second data concerning usage of media data by the predetermined receiver is gathered by a monitoring system separate from the portage monitor, the second data corresponding to at least a portion of the first data. Audience measurement data is produced based on the first and second data.
Abstract:
A method and system (30) for reliably detecting encoded messages included in audio media data (2) in varying acoustic environments, where only a portion of the predetermined message may have been received or detected (4).
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for gathering audience measurement data relating to exposure of an audience member to audio data. Audio data is received in a user system and is then encoded with audience measurement data. The encoded audio data is reproduced by the user system, picked up by a monitor and decoded to recover the audience measurement data.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for monitoring usage of media data using a monitoring device (12), processor (14), storage device (16) and a communication device (18) at user locations in which the presence or absence of media data in monitored data. Where media is present, it is separated from the monitored data and used to produce data representing usage of media data.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for identifying and/or measuring usage of media data gathered at a user location using remote decoding and/or pattern matching techniques. A data set is formed (30) based on the media data, which includes some, but not all, of the information represented by the media data. The data set is communicated (40) to a remotely located processing system (60) for detecting a code based on the data set and/or conducting a pattern matching process based on the data set.
