Abstract: A NOx sensor protection system (130) includes a flow control device (131) forming an internal chamber (134) with exhaust and shield gas ports (141, 150) and a NOx sensor (118, 120). The flow control device (131) is configured to selectively allow a flow of exhaust from an exhaust pipe (112) to the NOx sensor (118, 120) when an internal combustion engine (102) is operated with a first fuel, and to selectively direct shield gas from the shield gas port (150) at an angle of 135° to 180° to the NOx sensor (118, 120) to inhibit the flow of exhaust from the exhaust pipe (112) to the NOx sensor (118, 120) when the engine (102) is operated with a second fuel.

Abstract: An exhaust component (26) for use with a combustion engine (12) is disclosed. The exhaust component may have a housing (28) at least partially defining an inlet (30) and an outlet (32), and a treatment device (34) supported by the housing in communication with exhaust passing from the inlet to the outlet. The exhaust component may also have a life indicator (36) permanently associated with at least one of the housing and the treatment device.

Abstract: An exhaust gas aftertreatment system is disclosed. The system may include an inlet to receive an exhaust gas produced by an engine and a first section to receive the exhaust gas from the inlet. The system may include a mixing tube to receive the exhaust gas from the first section and a reductant injector to inject a reductant into the mixing tube. The system may include a second section to receive the exhaust gas from the mixing tube and to facilitate mixing of the reductant and the exhaust gas after the exhaust gas exits the mixing tube and a diffuser to receive the exhaust gas from the second section. The system may include a plurality of catalysts to receive the exhaust gas from the diffuser and at least one outlet to receive the exhaust gas from the plurality of catalysts.

Abstract: A system (212) for uniform flow distribution of a reductant is disclosed. The system (212) includes an injector lance (218) and a diffuser assembly (220). The injector lance (218) further includes a reductant supply conduit (222) and an injector nozzle (224). The reductant supply conduit (222) extends into an internal diameter (D) of an exhaust conduit (106) from a first end (308) of the exhaust conduit (106) towards a second end (310) of the exhaust conduit (106). The injector lance (218) is in communication with and extends perpendicular to the reductant supply conduit (222). The injector lance (218) is located along a longitudinal axis of the exhaust conduit (106). The diffuser assembly (220) is further collocated or integral with the injector lance (218).
