Abstract: A space frame (12) for a machine (10) is disclosed. The space frame may have a first end (42) configured to be connected to front wheels (14) of the machine. The space frame may also have a second end (44) configured to be connected to rear wheels (16) of the machine. Further, the space frame may have primary structural members (56) arranged substantially lengthwise between the first end and the second end. In addition, the space frame may have secondary structural members (58) connected between the primary structural members to form substantially triangulated structures (60, 62) allowing the space frame to support a payload to empty vehicle weight ratio ranging from about 1.2:1 to 2:1.

Abstract: A support arrangement for a haul truck (10) comprises a space frame (20) and a dump body (30) operatively positioned on the space frame (20) according to defined contact points. The space frame (20) can include at least one rear support (211), at least one outer elongate support member (201), and at least one support rocker (274) configured to pivot laterally about an axis. The dump body (30) can include on a bottom (35) thereof a rear pivot support (310) and at least one flat contact surface (301), and on a front face (37) thereof at least one vertical support structure (370). Each rear support (211) of the space frame (20) is configured to be pivotally coupled to the rear pivot support (310) of the dump body (30). Each vertical support structure (370) of the dump body (30) is configured to be removably seated in a corresponding support rocker (274). Each flat contact surface (301) is configured to be positioned adjacent to an outer lateral surface of an outer elongate support member (201).
