Abstract:
One aspect of the invention relates to a resin composition having good scratch resistance. The resin composition comprises about 5 to about 50 parts by weight of core-shell graft resin (A) and about 95 to about 50 parts by weight of resin (B) which contains about 40 to about 100 % by weight of (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester. The outer shell of the core-shell graft resin (A) comprises (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester.
Abstract:
An optical disc comprises an active disc in which information is recorded and a dummy disc for protecting the active disc, wherein the active disc and the dummy disc are bonded to form a single body, wherein the dummy disc is made of methylmethacrylate-acry-lonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (MABS) resin.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an impact modifier formed by graft polymerizing about 45 to 70 % by weight of a rubber polymer with about 30 to 55 % by weight of a methacrylate-based monomer, wherein said rubber polymer is prepared by polymerizing about 0.1 to 1 part by weight of an antioxidant with about 100 parts by weight of a monomer mixture comprising about 30 to 45 % by weight of a diene -based monomer and about 55 to 70 % by weight of alkyl acrylate. The methacrylate-based resin composition of the present invention using the aforementioned impact modifier may have improved transparency and impact resistance and has a good appearance.
Abstract:
One aspect of the invention relates to an acrylate-vinyl aromatic-unsaturated nitrile graft copolymer. The acrylate-vinyl aromatic-unsaturated nitrile graft copolymer can include: a double layered rubbery polymer comprising an inner core layer of alkylacrylate-vinyl aromatic copolymer and an outer core layer of alkylacrylate polymer; and a vinyl aromatic-unsaturated nitrile copolymer shell layer grafted onto the double layered rubbery polymer. Another aspect of the invention relates to a weatherable thermoplastic resin composition including the foregoing acrylate-vinyl aromatic-unsaturated nitrile graft copolymer.
Abstract:
One aspect of the invention relates to a methacrylate resin prepared by suspension poly¬ merization wherein a poly alkylacrylate- acrylic acid is used as a suspension stabilizer. The suspension stabilizer is used in an amount of about 0.05 to about 0.25 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of a monomer mixture. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for preparing a methacrylate resin, which comprises: preparing a mixture by mixing an initiator and a chain-transfer agent with a monomer mixture comprising at least about 50 % by weight of alkyl methacrylate; and adding the mixture to an aqueous solution of polyalkylacrylate-acrylic acid to conduct suspension poljmerization.
