摘要: Disclosed herein are oligomerization processes in which ethylene and a catalyst system are first combined for a suitable residence time in an activation vessel, prior to introduction into a reaction zone to oligomerize ethylene to form a desired oligomer product, such as 1-hexene and/or 1-octene. Related oligomerization reaction systems that include the activation vessel also are disclosed. In these oligomerization processes and reaction systems, the catalyst system can be fully activated as it leaves the activation vessel and enters the reaction zone, thus providing greater catalyst utilization and less catalyst waste.

摘要: A method of modifying the activity of a solid acid catalyst by contact with a carboxylic acid is presented. The modified catalyst is exposed to a feed mixture including olefins in a reaction zone, and an effluent including an isomerized olefin product is withdrawn from the reaction zone. The isomerized olefin product includes a more random distribution of internal olefins than the olefins of the feed mixture. The feed mixture and the isomerized olefin product include linear olefins. The isomerization results in no more than about 10 weight percent additional branched, compared to the olefins of the feed mixture, among the olefins of the isomerized olefin product. The isomerized olefin product includes no more than about 20 weight percent dimer. The olefin monomers of the feed mixture and the isomerized olefin product include from about 4 to about 30 carbon atoms. The effluent includes no more than about 20 weight percent ester. The solid acid catalyst may be an acidic ion exchange resin. The feed mixture may include olefins, esters, and carboxylic acid.

摘要: A composition comprising: a) at least 76 mol% C 10 monoolefins, the C 10 monoolefins comprising i) at least 3 mol% 2-butyl-1-hexene, ii) at least 8 mol% 3-propyl-1-heptene, iii) at least 6 mol% 4-ethyl-1-octene, and iv) at least 20 mol% 5-methyl-1-nonene; and b) at least 1 mol% C 14 monoolefins. A composition comprising at least 95 mol% C 10 monoolefins, the C 10 monoolefins comprising i) at least 3 mol% 2-butyl-1-hexene, ii) at least 10 mol% 3-propyl-1-heptene, iii) at least 7 mol% 4-ethyl-1-octene, and iv) at least 24 mol% 5-methyl-1-nonene. Processes to prepare a composition comprising at least 76 mol% C 10 monoolefins and at least 1 mol% C 14 monoolefins, or a composition comprising at least 95 mol% C 10 monoolefins, where the C 10 monoolefins comprise i) at least 3 mol% 2-butyl-1-hexene, ii) at least 10 mol% 3-propyl-1-heptene, iii) at least 7 mol% 4-ethyl-1-octene, and iv) at least 24 mol% 5-methyl-1-nonene.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a process for forming an oligomer product comprising (a) introducing into a reaction zone (i) ethylene; (ii) a heteroatomic ligand metal salt complex comprising a heteroatomic ligand complexed to a first metal salt; (iii) a second metal salt wherein an equivalent molar ratio of the second metal salt to the heteroatomic ligand of the heteroatomic ligand metal salt complex is at least 0.5: 1 and where the second metal salt is an iron salt, a cobalt salt, or any combination thereof; (iv) an organoaluminum compound; and (b) forming an oligomer product. Also disclosed herein is a process comprising (a) introducing into a reaction zone (i) ethylene; (ii) heteroatomic ligand; (iii) a metal salt where an equivalent molar ratio of the metal salt to the heteroatomic ligand is at least 1.5: 1; (iv) an organoaluminum compound; and (b) forming an oligomer product.

摘要: Processes and systems for the production for pressure management of a polymerization product flowing from a loop polymerization reactor to a separation vessel in a slurry polymerization system are disclosed herein. For example, a process comprises withdrawing the polymerization product from a loop polymerization reactor, and conveying the withdrawn polymerization product to a separation vessel via a first pressure differential and a second pressure differential. The withdrawn polymerization product may flow through the first pressure differential before flowing through the second pressure differential, and the first pressure differential may be less than the second pressure differential.

摘要: Methods for recycling ethylene from a reaction zone effluent stream from an oligomerization reaction zone, in which the reaction zone effluent stream contains an oligomer product effluent having at least 20 mass % octene(s), include a step of separating the reaction zone effluent stream into a first stream containing ethylene and less than 5 mass % C4+ olefins, a second stream containing butene(s) and less than 10 mass % C6+ olefins, a third stream containing at least 96 mass % hexene(s), and a fourth stream containing at least 96 mass % octene(s). The ethylene-rich first stream is recycled into the oligomerization reaction zone, while the recycle of 1-butene and other butenes is reduced significantly.

摘要: A reactor system containing one or more loop reactors for olefin polymerization is provided. The loop reactors include vertical sections, elbow sections, and/or horizontal sections connected into one or more loop reaction zones to polymerize an olefin monomer in the presence of a liquid diluent into a slurry comprising particles of a polyolefin polymer. The reactor system footprint is reduced to increase production efficiency and save cost, while maintaining a high processing capacity. In one embodiment a horizontal length (L H ) of at least one horizontal section is greatly reduced with maintained processing capacity. In another embodiment, at least one elbow section of the reactor system is configured to maintain a Dean number (D n ) of the slurry flowing therein to be higher than 3,000,000.
