Abstract: A system (10) is disclosed for cyclically charging limestone in a regenerating oven (20) comprising storing and supplying means adapted to receive limestone supplied from charging means, to store and supply it alternately and cyclically to a first and a second vat (21; 23) of the oven (20) by interposing airtightly sealed supply valves, an internal pressure equalizing device of the storing means with a pressure of an environment in which the charging means operate or an internal pressure of the oven (20); a process is further disclosed for charging limestone in a regenerating oven (20) through such system (10).
