摘要: Disclosed are polymeric compositions with improved breakdown strength. The polymeric compositions contain a polyolefin and a voltage stabilizing agent. The voltage stabilizing agent contains a triazine. The triazine may include a substituent that enables keto-enol tautomerism, which provides the voltage stabilizing agent with additional energy dissipation capacity. The present polymeric compositions exhibit improved breakdown strength when applied as an insulating layer for power cable.

摘要: Silane-crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising a polyolefin having hydrolyzable silane groups, an acidic silanol condensation catalyst, and a phenolic antioxidant. The phenolic antioxidant has a phenol-based moiety fused with a cyclic ether where the oxygen atom of the cyclic ether is located in the para position relative to the hydroxyl group of the phenol-based moiety. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions can be employed in various articles of manufacture, such as in the wire and cable industry.

In embodiment, the composition is a crosslinkable composition and includes an ethylene‐based polymer, a polyaminosiloxane (PAS), and optionally a peroxide. The polyaminosiloxane (PAS) has the Formula (I) [RSi(OZ)2O1/2]q [RSi(OZ)O2/2]m [RSiO3/2]n wherein R is a C6-C20 aminoalkyl group with a phenyl moiety, Si is a silicon atom, O is an oxygen atom, Z is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C10 hydrocarbonyl group, q, m, and n each individually is an integer from 2 to 1,000,000; and 1/2 denotes an end block structure of Formula (II), 2/2 denotes a linear structure of Formula (III), and 3/2 denotes a branched structure of Formula (IV). Also disclosed is a crosslinked composition formed from the crosslinkable composition.

摘要: A composition comprises a) at least one ethylene-based copolymer comprising units derived from ethylene and from greater than 0 wt% to less than or equal to 3.5 wt%, based on the total weight of the ethylene-based copolymer, of units derived from at least one polar comonomer; b) at least one antioxidant; c) an organic peroxide; d) optionally, at least one co-agent; and e) optionally, at least one water tree retardant or electrical tree retardant. The composition comprises from 0 wt% to less than 1 wt%, based on the total weight of the composition, of olefin-based polymers other than the ethylene-based copolymer. The composition has a dissipation factor of from 0% to less than or equal to 0.1% at a temperature of 120°C and an electrical stress of 6 kV/mm. The composition is suitable for use as an insulation layer in cables.
