Abstract:
A hemodialysis machine includes a main body and a door connected to the main body. The door and the main body cooperate to define a non-removable chamber. The door is openable relative to the main body of the hemodialysis machine to allow a salt to be placed into the non-removable chamber when the door is in an open position. The main body further includes a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a pumping mechanism. The fluid inlet and the fluid outlet are in fluid communication with the non-removable chamber. The pumping mechanism is configured to deliver a fluid from a fluid source to the non-removable chamber through the fluid inlet to mix with salt within the non-removable chamber to form a salt solution that exits the non-removable chamber through the fluid outlet.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for filling a container (82, 82a) containing a dry powdered salt concentrate for use in dialysis with purified fluid and removing the trapped air or gases generated during the filling of the container (82, 82a), while maintaining the required fluid level in the container (82, 82a) and without the need for evacuating gases from the container prior to filling.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to making medical solutions. In certain aspects, a method is performed by a data processing apparatus. The method includes introducing liquid (97) into a container (82) that contains a dissolvable solid concentrate (93) in a manner so that a layer of solution (95) above the solid concentrate (93) is maintained at a depth that allows the liquid (97) introduced into the container (82) to agitate the solution (95) adjacent to the solid concentrate (93) to cause mixing of the solid concentrate (93) with the solution (95).
