Abstract:
The present invention relates to mortars which include a blend of cellulose ether compounds and exhibit improved pot life, water retention capability, and open time, as well as high tensile strength values. These mortars can be used in the fabrication of external insulation finishing systems (EIFS), particularly in hot environments. The cellulose ether blend includes hydroxyethylcellulose ether and methylhydroxyethylcellulose ether. Water soluble anionic polyacrylamide and hydroxypropyl starch can also be added to the mortar.
Abstract:
The presently disclosed and claimed inventive concept(s) relates generally to a hydraulic composition with a prolonged open time. More particularly, the composition comprises at least one cement retarder and at least one accelerator. The presently disclosed and claimed inventive concept(s) further relates to a dry mortar composition comprising the hydraulic composition having prolonged open time without deterioration of the other cement tile adhesive properties such as workability, setting time, strength development and sag resistance.
Abstract:
Dry Mortars with Long Open Time and Increased Water Factor Mixture composition for modifying a dry mortar formulation comprising at least one redispersible polymer powder, a polyamide, a cellulose ether and a multivalent metal salt. Also disclosed are a method of making the modified dry mortar formulation and a method of increasing the open time and water factor of the dry mortar formulation without deteriorating the mechanical strength of the cured dry mortar formulation.
