Abstract: There is provided an electrostatic ink composition comprising chargeable particles comprising a resin and a conductive pigment; a charge director comprising a sulfosuccinate salt of the general formula MAn, wherein M is a metal, n is the valence of M, and A is an ion of the general formula [R 1 -O-C(O)CH 2 CH(SO 3 )C(O)-O-R 2 ] wherein each of R 1 and R 2 is an a IkyI group; and a dispersant being or comprising a succinimide linked to a basic group. A method of manufacturing an electrostatic ink composition and a print medium are also described.

Also disclosed herein is a method of electrostatic printing and a print substrate having printed thereon the magenta liquid electrostatic ink composition.

Abstract: Described herein is a method for electrostatic printing comprising: (i) providing an ink composition comprising: a hydrocarbon carrier liquid and particles comprising a resin and a colorant, and wherein the ink composition contains less than 0.3 mg of charge director per g of solids in the ink composition; (ii) adding a charge director to the ink composition, such that the total amount of charge director in the ink composition is at least 0.6 mg per g of solids in the ink composition, and, (iii) within a predetermined time of adding the charge director, printing the ink onto a print medium in an electrostatic printing process, wherein the predetermined time is 90 minutes or less. Also described herein is a packaged ink composition, and method for producing it.
