Abstract:
A fastener with multiple thread characteristics includes a shank and head. The shank has a penetrating tip distal most from the head. The shank includes a first, conventional thread formation formed therein adjacent the penetrating tip and a second, anti-back-out thread formation adjacent the conventional thread formation, between the conventional thread formation and the head.
Abstract:
A host tool having an integral system for ordering inventory from an inventory order interface has a processing unit, a location provider and a remote connector. The location provider is configured to selectively provide the location of the host tool to the processing unit, while the remote connector is configured to establish a remote connection between the processing unit and an inventory order interface of the supplier of the inventory. A customer identification card having order information is selectively connected to the host tool. When the card is connected, the information is read by and transmitted from the host tool to the inventory order interface through the remote connector. The processing unit is configured to interface location information from the location provider, payment information and order information from the customer identification card, through the remote connector, to place an order for inventory at the inventory order interface.
Abstract:
A self-drilling anchor (10) for use in a friable material or a semi-rigid material comprises a body (12) having an axis (6), an axial bore (8) adapted to receive a fastener, a proximal end, a drilling end, a proximal portion adjacent the proximal end having high threading having a crest diameter for engaging the friable or semi-rigid material, and a drilling portion (16) adjacent the drilling end, an additional thread proximate the proximal end, the additional thread continuing between turns of the high threading, and a head at the proximal end having an outer diameter that is smaller than the crest diameter. The anchor additional thread is configured to engage either the friable material or, additionally, to firmly engage the semi-rigid material.
Abstract:
An anchor assembly structured for use in connection with ceiling or roofing structures for hanging industrial or commercial components, such as, for example, electrical conduits, heating units, water pipes for automatic water sprinkler systems, and the like. The anchor assembly is easy and quick to install, and also provides enhanced swivel capabilities or angular ranges of movement so as to accommodate various system and spatial requirements in connection with the suspension of the components. Suspension and lateral restraint systems are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A self-drilling anchor (110) for use in a friable material comprises a body (112)having an axis, a flanged rear end(114), a drilling front end (170)and a generally cylindrical portion therebetween having an outer surface with a thread (146) disposed thereon, wherein the body forks, beginning at a predetermined distance from the flanged rear end, into a first leg and a second leg, the first leg extending forwardly into a drilling tip and having a generally rearward facing shoulder angled obtusely outwardly with respect to the axis, wherein the body has an axial bore (132) for receiving an elongate fastener, the axial bore extending substantially through the flanged end and the generally cylindrical portion and leading to the generally rearward facing shoulder, wherein the anchor has a drilling mode wherein the second leg nests behind the generally rearward facing shoulder of the first leg, and an anchoring mode wherein the legs are pivoted apart from one another.
Abstract:
A fastener-driving tool includes a combustion power source (14) configured for driving a driver blade (46) linearly towards a workpiece, and an electrical power source (80) associated with the combustion power source for rotationally driving the driver blade upon completion of the linear travel, both power sources being disposed in the tool.
Abstract:
A housing (12) for a power tool (10) having a power source (14), includes a fuel cell chamber (40) configured for attachment to the power source (14) and dimensioned for operationally receiving a fuel cell (60) in either one of a first orientation and a second orientation.
