Abstract:
A metal anchoring fastener fastens millwork onto walls constructed with wall cladding fastened to steel studs. The load typical of a loaded cabinet is borne by the steel stud anchors owing to the mate between the profile of the steel stud anchor and the layers of millwork and wall cladding and steel stud that said anchor penetrates. The pitch of the thread adorning the profile of the steel stud anchor progresses non-linearly along the length of said shaft, the shaft is generally non-linear in profile, and the thread profile is non-uniform along the length of said shaft. The anchor can also support a secondary screw concentrically penetrating the void at the center of the anchor, in order to hang loads from a wall, with or without millwork. Predrilling of the holes can enable installation of these zinc anchors.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method to obtain a time saving and ergonomic sustainable piercing, forming of threads and fixing of at least two metal sheets (2, 3) by using a hand held power tool for driving a drilling screw (1) with different cutting diameters (A, B) and with a threaded portion (C) having a restricted periphery extension of the threads. The invention is characterized in that the screw (1) with in lengthwise (L1) limited drilling tip portion (A) and with a smaller diameter (d1) is brought to a cutting engagement with the surface of the first sheet (2), that, during a continuous or finishing drilling through the first sheet, the second larger diameter (B) of the screw is brought in a position to initiate its piercing work in the first sheet (2), that the second sheet (3) is reached by the tip portion (A) of the drilling screw (1) whereupon a piercing in the second sheet (3) is initiated and goes on until a break through occurs also with the second larger diameter (B), that said threaded portion (C) on the drilling screw is brought to a thread forming engagement with drilled holes in sheets (2, 3) and feeds the drilling screw (1) to an end stop position where the edges of the holes in the sheets will pass the threaded portion (C) and reach a portion without threads or with breakable threads, whereby the first sheet (2) simultaneously will come to bear against the bottom side of the screw head (E).
Abstract:
A mounting screw (1) as well as a method and arrangement for manufacturing it. The mounting screw (1) comprises a metallic basic body part (3) and it is at least partly painted. The mounting screw (1) comprises two or more paint coat layer (5, 6), of which the ground coat layer (5) comprises a component that increases corrosion resistance.
Abstract:
A self-drilling fastener from which objects may be hung, for use in a friable material with or without an underlying member at the point of use or in a semi-rigid material such as a hollow core door comprises an elongated body (12) having a threaded exterior with separate threads for drilling (23) into the member, gripping the member (21), gripping the friable material (19) and/or gripping the semi-rigid material. The fastener may further have a relatively small-diametered solid portion from which objects hang and an axially expanding angled portion (72) for biasing the object toward the solid portion to stabilize and prevent the object from dislodging from the fastener.
Abstract:
A brick tie anchor (10) secures a brick veneer to an underlying structure. The anchor (10) includes a head portion (14) having a shaped body (36) defining a longitudinal axis. The head (14) includes a key portion (44) extending from an end of the body (36) having generally flat sides and an open central area. A shank (12) has an upper shank portion (18) and a lower shank portion (20). The lower shank portion (20) is threaded for penetration into the underlying structure. The upper shank portion (18) and the lower shank portion (20) are separated from one another by a shoulder (26). The upper shank portion (18) includes a knurled region (30) extending from the shoulder (26). A washer (16) is disposed at the juncture of the head portion (14) and the shank (12).
Abstract:
A self drilling fastener for use in a friable material with or without an underlying support member at the point of use comprises an elongated body having an axis, a threaded exterior having a root, an enlarged head having torque transmitting surfaces therein, a proximal portion, an intermediate portion, a distal portion, and a drilling tip generally opposite the enlarged head. The proximal portion has an axial length and a threaded exterior having a root, a crest diameter, and a thread height. The intermediate portion has an axial length and a threaded exterior having a root, a crest diameter substantially smaller than the crest diameter of the proximal portion, and a thread height substantially smaller than the thread height of the proximal portion. The distal portion has an axial length and a threaded exterior with a root that tapers toward the drilling tip, a crest diameter substantially smaller than the crest diameter of the proximal portion, and a thread height substantially smaller than the thread height of the proximal portion.
