Abstract: A network of orbiting satellites can be used with a distributed network of nodes to deliver live video streams from physical locations in space to Earth for distribution to viewers on client devices. The approach can include replicating a distributed network cluster in space where each orbiting satellite is a node in the network. This system allows entities to deliver low latency live video streams from cameras mounted on the spacecraft, as well as other satellites, and on the surface of the Moon and planets. The latency will depend on the communication technology used and the distance of the video source from Earth. The lowest latency can be achieved by using optical communication technology, such as laser communication. The system can distribute live streams originating in space to a large global audience through an earth-based distribution network and can support millions of concurrent online users with near real-time latency.

Abstract: A live media streaming architecture with real-time live watermarking wherein watermarks are added at a frame or subframe level. The architecture can use a UDP/WebRTC architecture, without requiring a content delivery network, which is not dependent on transmitting media by segments, thus allowing insertion of the watermark at a frame or subframe level. By inserting watermarks at a frame or subframe level, latency is minimized for media delivery to under 500 milliseconds (ms) and for extraction to about five to fifteen seconds.

Abstract: A live media streaming architecture facilitates live interaction among multiple participants, such as viewers and stage performers for a show. A cluster of computers is responsible for generating, transmitting, and displaying a composed live stream, such as a grid, of one group of individuals, by mixing live streams from those individuals, that will allow them to interact with a stage performer or other contributors or other individuals during an event. The architecture can support receiving the live streams at a physical location of an event or other locations for centralized redistribution.
