Abstract:
A manual pump fluid dispenser has a base (112) and a dispensing cap (114) with a dispenser outlet (144') mounted to the base. Insert (116) is mounted between the base and the cap to define at least one pump chamber (122, 123). The insert engages with the base to define an inlet through which a liquid can be drawn into the at least one pump chamber from a liquid source. The insert has a central core (176) and a resiliently flexible upper diaphragm member (184) projecting upwardly and radially outwardly from the core for contact with the cap to define the at least one pump chamber. The insert is movable between an initial resiliently biased configuration in which the volume of the at least one pump chamber (122, 123) is at a maximum and a deformed configuration in which the volume of the at least one pump chamber is at a minimum, in the deformed configuration, the upper diaphragm (184) is at least partially folded down about itself and/or the core. Other aspects of the dispenser are described and claimed.
Abstract:
A pressurized dispenser comprising a base around which surrounds a peripheral wall having an open end sealed by a dispensing element comprising a dip-tube, a fluid reservoir in contact with the dip-tube for reducing the compressed gas lost from the pressurized dispenser, a compressed gas and a dispensing liquid, wherein a majority of said fluid reservoir being located outside of the diptube and the fluid reservoir comprises a porous material, arranged in use to hold a volume of the dispensing liquid, the porous material being configured so that in use at least a portion of any compressed gas in the reservoir can be displaced by the liquid, ejecting said portion of the compressed gas into the dispenser, and wherein the dispensing element is configured to dispense the dispensing liquid continuously for at least 0.5 seconds, upon actuation of the dispensing element.
Abstract:
A manual pump dispenser has a body having an annular wall portion (467) and an insert (416) having a central core (416a) and a closure member (460) extending radially from the core for cooperation with the annular wall portion to define a pump chamber (105). An inlet arrangement for the pump chamber comprises a pair of axially spaced sealing portions (462, 464) on an outer circumferential region of the closure member that define an inlet chamber (463) and a fluid passageway (461) within the insert fluidly connecting the inlet chamber with a fluid source. A downstream one (462) of the spaced sealing portions is operative to allow fluid to flow into the pump chamber from the inlet chamber but to prevent fluid from flowing in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
A manually actuated pump dispenser for dispensing a mixture of air and at least one other fluid, the dispenser comprising a final outlet, a cylinder (722), a plunger assembly (714) slidably received in the cylinder to define within the cylinder a main pump chamber (724) of variable volume, a final outlet including an outlet valve arrangement, an air inlet for admitting ambient air into the main pump chamber, wherein the plunger assembly (714) comprises a plunger body and a traveller member (752) mounted to the plunger body within the cylinder, at least part of the traveller member being movable relative to the plunger body to define with the plunger body a fluid dosing chamber (772) of variable volume, a fluid dosing chamber inlet connected to a fluid source and a fluid dosing chamber outlet through which the fluid can be dispensed together with pressurised air from the main pump chamber.
Abstract:
A manual pump action dispenser for dispensing at least one liquid from a container, the dispenser comprising a base and a cap (114) having an outlet (144) for the liquid, the base being mountable to or forming part of a container and the cap (114) being mountable to the base for movement relative to the base between a rest position and an actuated position, the dispenser further comprising a flexible insert (116) locatable between the base and the cap (114) to define a first pump chamber (122) for dispensing said at least one liquid, the insert being adapted to engage with the base to define an inlet through which said at least one liquid to be dispensed can enter the first pump chamber, the dispenser further comprising an inlet valve operable to enable liquid to enter the first pump chamber (122) through the inlet and an outlet valve arrangement operable to control the release of liquid from the first pump chamber through the outlet, in which the insert also defines a second pump chamber (123) for dispensing a second fluid.
