The present specification relates to a method for performing a wireless connection between devices in a wireless communication system, comprising the steps of: activating a wireless connection function; transmitting a ping tone for discovering one or more second devices in the vicinity; receiving a response tone in response to the ping tone from the one or more second devices; transmitting a connection request tone for requesting for a wireless connection to the second device on the basis of the received response tone; and receiving a connection response tone corresponding to a response to the connection request tone from the second device.

A data transmission and reception method for a source device which transmits data using a high definition media interface (HDMI) is disclosed. A data transmission and reception method for an HDMI source device comprises the steps of: when a sink device is connected, transmitting a request for reading extended display identification data (EDID) to the sink device; receiving the EDID including port information of the sink device from the sink device; transmitting operation parameter information determined on the basis of the EDID; and transmitting data through an HDMI.

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for the seamless playback of content. A method for seamlessly providing content involves discovering a first device which is currently playing back content in response to the request for seamless playback from a second device, makes a request for a property set associated with the asset currently being played back to the first device, and seamlessly plays back the content based on the property set transmitted from the first device. According to the disclosed present invention, content may be seamlessly played back by devices through various types of downloads or streaming handovers in an open content market environment that supports a cross service between heterogeneous services and exchange between devices.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for controlling the transceiving of content between UPnP devices. The control method comprises the following steps: searching for a plurality of UPnP devices; receiving, from at least one of the found UPnP devices, the CEC addresses of the UPnP devices and the CEC address of a device connected through HDMI; checking the HDMI connection between a source device and a sink device from among the found UPnP devices using the received CEC addresses; and controlling content to be streamed via the HDMI connection between the source device and the sink device.
