A data transmission and reception method for a source device which transmits data using a high definition media interface (HDMI) is disclosed. A data transmission and reception method for an HDMI source device comprises the steps of: when a sink device is connected, transmitting a request for reading extended display identification data (EDID) to the sink device; receiving the EDID including port information of the sink device from the sink device; transmitting operation parameter information determined on the basis of the EDID; and transmitting data through an HDMI.
Abstract:
A dongle is configured to connect to a set top box. The dongle includes a memory for storing data, such as callback data files, and a wireless communication module for forwarding the stored data to an access point, for delivery to a television service provider head end. The dongle can also receive information to be provided to the set top box. Authentication and authorization of the dongle ensure only authenticated and authorized devices can access the system. A communication technology is used that allows for a large coverage area and simultaneous communication with many set top boxes.

There is provided an apparatus and method to control reproduction of content recorded to a recording medium; control reading, from the recording medium, first content information indicating whether an initial output mode at a start of reproduction is 4K or 2K; and output a notification based on the initial output mode at start of reproduction indicated by the first content information.

The method includes determining a power saving mode by one or more of a first communication device and a second communication device based on one or more of a video content state and one or more un-allocated communication paths. A power saving operation is performed while using a wired link between the first communication device and the second communication device based on the determined power saving mode.

A mobile device is provided. The mobile device includes: a display; a communicator configured to communicate with a terminal apparatus which displays items classified into a plurality of groups in a form of a list; and when the mobile device is connected with the terminal apparatus for communication, a controller configured to hop over the groups of the items displayed on the terminal apparatus according to a touch manipulation which is performed on a screen of the display. Accordingly, the mobile device can provide various services by being interlocked with the terminal apparatus mounted in a vehicle.

Ein eingebettetes System zur Videoverarbeitung umfasst Hardware-Mittel zum Realisieren folgender Funktionen: a) einer Server-Funktion, wobei zum Realisieren der Server-Funktion die folgenden Funktionen realisiert sind: a1) Annahme von mindestens einem Bild-, mindestens einem Audio- Datenstrom; a2) Kompression mindestens eines der Bild- und Audio-Datenströme in jeweils einen kombinierten Datenstrom; a3) Ausgabe mindestens eines der kombinierten Datenströme über ein protokollbasiertes Netzwerk; b) einer Client-Funktion, wobei zum Realisieren der Client-Funktion die folgenden Funktionen realisiert sind: b1) Annahme mindestens eines kombinierten Datenstroms aus dem protokollbasierten Netzwerk; b2) Dekompression des mindestens einen kombinierten Datenstroms; b3) Ausgabe des dekomprimierten Bild- und Audio-Datenstroms; c) wobei die Hardware-Mittel derart ausgelegt sind, dass sie c1) einen kontinuierlichen kombinierten Datenstrom komprimieren und dekomprimieren c2) eine individuelle Sicherung mittels einer im System gespeicherten Hardwareseriennummer und/oder einem individuellen Freischaltcode vornehmen und c3) Freischaltcode-Überwachungsmittel umfassen, die ein Überwachen und Abgleichen von Freischaltcodes vornehmen.
