Abstract: An impact tool includes a housing, an electric motor supported within the housing and having a motor shaft, and a drive assembly configured to convert a continuous rotational input from the motor shaft to consecutive rotational impacts upon a workpiece. The drive assembly includes a camshaft having front and rear portions. A gear assembly is coupled between the motor shaft and the drive assembly, the gear assembly including a ring gear that is rotationally and radially fixed relative to the housing and a plurality of planet gears meshed with the ring gear. Each of the plurality of planet gears is coupled to the rear portion of the camshaft, and a line of action of a radial load exerted by the rear portion of the camshaft on the housing passes through one of the plurality of planet gears and the ring gear.

Abstract: A power tool includes a tool element extending from a housing, an electric motor disposed within the housing, a switch actuatable to energize the electric motor, an eccentric drive coupled to the electric motor and configured to convert a rotational input from the motor into a reciprocating motion of the tool element, and a controller configured to control operation of the electric motor. The electric motor is operable in a first mode to rotate in a first direction and in a second mode to rotate in a second direction opposite the first direction. The eccentric drive is configured to reciprocate the tool element when the electric motor is operated in the first mode and when the electric motor is operated in the second mode. The controller is configured to control the electric motor to alternate between the first mode and the second mode with each actuation of the switch.

Abstract: A handheld punch tool includes a housing, a die holder coupled to the housing, a die supported by the die holder, the die and the die holder defining a feed slot therebetween for receiving a workpiece to be cut, and a punch configured to reciprocate within the die holder, with a main body defining a first longitudinal axis extending centrally through the main body and a punch element extending from the main body along a second longitudinal axis parallel to the first longitudinal axis. The punch element is configured to cut a first distance into the workpiece per stroke of the punch when the feed slot faces a first side of the punch and to cut a second distance into the workpiece per stroke when the feed slot faces a second side of the punch opposite the first side. The first distance is greater than the second distance.

Abstract: An electric motor includes a rotor assembly, a stator assembly, a printed circuit board, and a solder cup. The stator assembly includes a lamination stack defining teeth, coils supported about the teeth, and a conductive terminal electrically connected to at least one coil. The conductive terminal includes a lead portion. The printed circuit board is coupled to the stator assembly and includes opposed first and second sides, and a through hole extending through the printed circuit board and receiving the lead portion. The printed circuit board further includes a solder pad surrounding the through hole on at least one of the first side or the second side. The solder cup is supported on the lead portion between the printed circuit board and the stator assembly, and includes a wide end facing toward the printed circuit board, and a narrow end opposite the wide end.
