Abstract: the present invention is directed to cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical compositions comprising at least one plant lipid, preferably pataua (Oenocarpus bataua) oil, having as main application promoting hair growth by modulating the expression of genes involved in the JAK-STAT signalling pathway. The present invention also relates to methods for promoting hair growth by modulating the expression of genes involved in the JAK-STAT signalling pathway and to the use of said plant lipids in the preparation of said compositions.
