    Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method of resource allocation for multiple virtualized base stations, vBSs (420), deployed in a shared radio computing platform (410), wherein the vBSs (420) share the same Radio Unit, RU (430), having a fixed number of Physical Resource Blocks, PRBs. With respect to an efficient utilization of both radio resources and available computing resources, the method comprises obtaining, by a radio controller, a set of metrics from the radio computing platform (410) for each of the vBSs (420) deployed; learning, by a learning agent (450) of the radio controller based on the obtained set of metrics, the traffic patterns and the CPU consumption of the vBSs (720) deployed; and computing, by the radio controller based on the knowledge of current CPU set configurations of the vBSs (420) and based on the learned traffic patterns and the CPU consumption of the vBSs (420), a CPU set configuration, L3 cache allocation and PRB assignment for each vBS (420) in such a way that at least one of the overall CPU overhead, the decoding time and SLA violations are minimized.

    Abstract: A method for managing radio and computing resources of a virtualized radio access network, vRAN (40), wherein the vRAN (40) comprises a number of virtualized radio access points, vRAPs(11), sharing a common pool of central processing units, CPUs (12), enhances efficiency and practicability of vRAN resource management. The method comprises dividing, per vRAP(11), a L1 layer processing pipeline (30) into at least one main processing pipelines (50) and into a number of subordinate processing pipelines (51, 52), and coordinating the execution of the pipelines (50, 51, 52) across multiple vRAPs (11). The coordinating includes allocating tasks of the main processing pipelines (50) to dedicated CPUs (12a), and allocating tasks of the subordinate processing pipelines (51, 52) to shared CPUs (12b).

    Abstract: Embodiment of the invention provide a method for determining a UE location within a cellular radio network, wherein the network includes at least one reconfigurable intelligent surface, RIS (220; 320).     Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a pipeline design to process 4G LTE and 5G New Radio (NR) physical layer workloads in sub-6GHz frequency bands over cloud platform. The composition of the pipeline (i) maximizes performance by exploiting multi-core clouds efficiently; and (ii) attains high resiliency by guaranteeing a minimum viable subframe (MVSF) irrespective of the computing availability and demand. Hence, the pipeline is particularly suited for constrained (low-cost) computing infrastructure and/or when the infrastructure is heavily shared, inducing variability on the availability of resources.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of self-configuration of a reconfigurable intelligent surface, RIS (310; 410), for optimizing a gain of a reflected beam (450, 460) between a BS (420) and a UE (430). According to embodiments of the invention, the method comprises: acquiring, by means of power sensing capabilities of the RIS (310; 410), a power profile (414) through sequential activation of probing beams (412); obtaining the angular position of the BS (420) and the UE (430) by identifying power profile peaks (416) in the acquired power profile (414); computing locally an optimal RIS configuration according to the identified angular position of the BS (420) and UE (430); and self-configuring the RIS (310; 410) by setting the computed optimal RIS configuration.

    Abstract: For providing an efficient and reliable classification of vehicles by simple means a method for classifying vehicles by means of a data processing system is provided, particularly for classifying vehicles according the nature of their vehicle drivers, comprising the following steps: collecting driving data regarding vehicles driving in a predefined local area within a predefined time window; learning a driving policy of one or more vehicles in said local area from said driving data; generating or using a local predictor indicating a prediction of a definable driver behavior over a definable time horizon; sharing the local predictor with other vehicles in said local area to provide at least one combined predictor; redistributing the at least one combined predictor back to vehicles in said local area; and locally classifying at least one of said vehicles based on the at least one combined predictor and/or the local predictor into a definable vehicle class for providing at least one local classification.
