Abstract: There is disclosed a retractable or self-closing dispense tip, particularly suited for dispensing viscous liquid. A retractable dispense tip is disclosed which comprises a hollow tube configured to collapse inwards under a resilient bias to close the tube. Also disclosed is a self-closing dispense tip comprising a hollow tube, wherein an end region of the tube is configured to close the tube under a resilient bias, the end region being responsive to positive pressure internal to said hollow tube to open the tube against the resilient bias. Other proposals comprise a mesh for controllably dispensing a viscous liquid, wherein the mesh is configured to inhibit the passage through the mesh of a viscous liquid incident on the mesh under ambient pressure, and to permit the passage of the liquid through the mesh responsive to a positive pressure on the liquid. Also disclosed are dispenser apparatuses comprising such dispensing tips.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an elongated smoking article (100) that comprises a cylindrical smoking body (10) with a combustible material and a hollow bore filter element (20) downstream to the cylindrical smoking body (10). The hollow bore filter element (20) comprises a first base area (21) facing the smoking body (10) and a second base area (22) opposite the first base area (21) and a hollow bore (25) extending from the first base area (21) to the second base area (22). The elongated smoking article (100) further comprises a filter membrane (50) that is arranged between the smoking body (10) and the hollow bore filter (20),thatcomprisesat least one filter aperture (55) aligned with the hollow bore (25),that is configured for filtering particles emitted by the heated smoking body (10), that is permeable for vapor emitted by the heated smoking body (10) and has an effective size between 0.5 µm and 1.5 mm. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing a hollow bore filter for such an elongated smoking article (100). The present invention further refers to a smoking system (300) comprising the elongated smoking article (100) and a heating device (200) for heating the elongated smoking article (100) and also refers to a heating device (200) for such a smoking system (300).

Abstract: The present invention provides a valve assembly for a dispenser for dispensing fluids comprising: a septum (120)of elastomeric material configured for fluid-tight engagement within a dispensing opening of a container. In a first configuration the septum prevents fluid from being dispensed. In the second configuration the petaline portions are opened to permit the fluid transfer conduit to extend therethrough. In this second configuration the petaline portions resiliently engage against one or more walls of said fluid transfer conduit and are further configured to self-close by returning to said first configuration responsive to withdrawal of said fluid transfer conduit.
