Abstract:
An apparatus is provided that includes a processor configured to maintain a first implicit registration set for a first apparatus, where the first implicit registration set includes a first identity unique to the first apparatus and a shared identity. The processor is also configured to maintain a second implicit registration set for a second apparatus, where the second implicit registration set includes a second identity unique to the second apparatus and the shared identity. In this regard, the first and second implicit registration sets may be maintained to enable registration of the first and second apparatuses with a network such that each of the first and second apparatuses are configured to receive communication requests to the respective first and second identities, and such that both of the first and second apparatuses are configured to receive communication requests to the shared identity.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus and method for establishing circuit-switched (CS) communications in packet-switched (PS) multimedia networks (210) such as IMS, and providing services via the PS networks (210) to CS domain (224) users. A dialog (222) is established between terminals (200/202) through the PS multimedia network (210). A service is provided to at least one of the terminals (200/202) byway of the dialog (222). CS bearer information, including an indication that a communication flow is requested via a CS network, is communicated between the terminals by way of the dialog (222). A communication flow (234) via the CS network is effected between the terminals (200/202) as directed by the CS bearer information. IMS or other PS multimedia network services can thus be provided to users otherwise communicating via the CS-domain.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for interworking. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include receiving interworking information, wherein the interworking information comprises at least one rule associated with network access; and receiving information from a network, wherein the information describes how to use the at least one rule associated with network access. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
A user that is using both CS (GSM) and IMS (MMTeL) domains needs to be provided a consistent service and thus a choice has to be made as to which data model is going to be used either GSM or MMTeL, for this reason a software updating system and method are described. The system for updating communication services includes user equipment (e.g. GSM 110, 510, 610) configured to communicate using a first communication service standard (140, 530, 630) and a second communication service standard (e.g. IMS, MMTeL), a subscriber database, an application server, and a network device. The network device detects an update trigger corresponding to a user equipment, requests that the user equipment discontinue using the first communication service standard, and flags the user equipment as updated by communicating with the application server and the subscriber database, The network device also receives a communication from the user equipment and determines whether the communication corresponds to the first communication service standard or the second communication service standard. If the communication corresponds to the first communication service standard the network device communicates an error message to the user equipment. However, if the communication corresponds to a second communication service standard, the network device processes the communication.
Abstract:
Local discovery of mobile network services involves coupling a communications device (102) to a local network segment (110) of a mobile data network. An announcement (124) is sent from the communication device (102) and/or a network entity (506) describing a service available via the respective devices (102, 506). The announcement (124) is receivable by any device on the local network segment (110). A request (236) is received at the device (102) for a detailed description of the service information in response to the announcement (124). A description of the service (408 A, 510) is sent from the communications device (102) to the originator of the request in response to the request (236), and the service is established between the originator and the communication device (102) and/or network entity (506) in response to the sending of the description of the service (408 A, 510).
Abstract:
Various methods for distributing a single stream of sensor data to one or more services are provided. One example method may include maintaining an association between sensor data and one or more services requesting the sensor data. The method of this example embodiment may further comprise receiving the sensor data. The example method may further comprise generating one or more copies of the sensor data. The example method may also comprise providing for distribution of the copies of the sensor data to the services requesting the sensor data, such that a copy of the sensor data is provided for distribution to each of the services requesting the sensor data. Similar and related example methods, example apparatuses, and example computer program products are also provided.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for steering traffic. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, at a user equipment, a message provided by a base station serving a radio access network, wherein the message includes an indication representative of a preference by the radio access network for traffic associated with at least one of an application, a destination domain, a service, and a traffic type; and determining whether to steer, based on the preference, the traffic to at least one of the radio access network or a wireless local area network served by a wireless local area network access point. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
A method can comprise providing single voice radio call continuity using packet data network bi-casting, wherein the call continuity is provided during a handover of a user equipment from a real- time transport protocol voice to a circuit switched voice call In such a method, the real-time transport protocol voice can be carried m a long term evolution system and the circuit switched voice call can be carried in a second or third generation system The method can be performed by a serving network of the user equipment.
Abstract:
There is proposed a method and corresponding apparatuses allowing a change from a packet switched communication domain to a circuit switched communication domain. When a user equipment as a connection terminating point receives a connection initialization message with a media flow, such as audio, which cannot be delivered by the packet switched access, it sends a specific response rejecting the connection via the packet switched access to an application server for service centralization and continuity. In the application server, it is checked whether several conditions are met in order to determine whether the communication connection comprising the media flow is allowed to be changed to the circuit switched domain. If yes, the communication connection is changed from the packet switched communication domain to the circuit switched communication domain.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for emergency call support. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include a home subscriber server receiving a first message comprising a generated value representing a session transfer number. The session transfer number may relate to a transfer of an emergency session from a first network to a second network. The method may further comprise a home subscriber server updating a user profile with the generated value representing the session transfer number for the emergency session.
