    Abstract: A perforating tool (100) includes an encapsulated shaped charge (10) that has a bulkhead (26) with a reduced wall thickness section (34), a plate (55) having a shallow recess, and a detonating cord (50) having an energetic core (52). The energetic core forms the plate into an explosively formed perforator when detonated. The plate is positioned to direct the explosively formed perforator into the reduced wall thickness section.
