Abstract:
The present invention is directed towards an electrodepositable coating composition comprising (a) a fluoropolymer; (b) an electrochemically active material and/or electrically conductive agent; (c) a pH-dependent rheology modifier; and (d) an aqueous medium comprising water; wherein water is present in an amount of at least 45% by weight, based on the total weight of the electrodepositable coating composition. Also disclosed herein is a method of coating a substrate, as well as coated substrates and electrical storage devices.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a slurry composition comprising a binder comprising a polymer comprising a fluoropolymer dispersed in a liquid medium; an adhesion promoter; and at least one of an electrochemically active material or an electrically conductive agent. The present invention also provides electrodes and electrical storage devices.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a slurry composition comprising an electrochemically active material and/or an electrically conductive agent, and a binder comprising a polymer comprising a fluoropolymer dispersed in an organic medium; wherein the organic medium has an evaporation rate less than 10 g/min m 2 , at the dissolution temperature of the fluoropolymer dispersed in the organic medium. The present invention also provides electrodes and electrical storage devices.
Abstract:
Supercapacitor electrodes comprising active charge supporting particles, graphenic carbon particles, and a binder are disclosed. The active charge supporting particles may comprise activated carbon. The graphenic carbon particles may be thermally produced. The electrodes may further comprise electrically conductive carbon.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a lithium ion battery electrode slurry composition comprising: (a) an electrochemically active material capable of lithium intercalation and deintercalation; (b) a binder dispersed in an aqueous or organic medium and comprising a reaction product of a reaction mixture comprising one or more epoxy functional polymer(s) and one or more acid functional acrylic polymer(s); and (c) an electrically conductive agent. The present invention also provides an electrode comprising: (a) an electrical current collector; and (b) a cured film formed on the electrical current collector. The cured film is deposited from the slurry composition described above. Electrical storage devices prepared from the electrode are also provided.
Abstract:
Photovoltaic modules are disclosed. The photovoltaic module comprises a front transparency, a potting material deposited on at least a portion of the front transparency, electrically interconnected photovoltaic cells applied to the potting material and a topcoat deposited on at least a portion of the electrically interconnected photovoltaic cells. Methods of making photovoltaic modules are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of fiber formation by electrical-mechanical spinning is disclosed. A liquid starting material is fed to a rotating annular member such as a spinning cup. The liquid material is directed by centrifugal force to the periphery of the annular member where it is expelled in fibrous form. An electric charge is imposed on the liquid while on the annular member or while immediately being expelled from the annular member.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a method of coating an electrical current collector comprising treating a portion of a surface of the electrical current collector with an adhesion promoting composition to deposit a treatment layer over the portion of the surface of the electrical current collector, wherein the resulting surface of the electrical current collector comprises (a) a treated portion comprising the treatment layer and (b) a non-treated portion that lacks the treatment layer; electrodepositing an electrodeposited coating layer from an electrodepositable coating composition onto the surface of the electrical current collector to form a coated electrical current collector; and rinsing the coated electrical current collector, wherein the electrodeposited coating layer substantially adheres to the treated portion of the surface and does not adhere to the non-treated portion of the surface. Also disclosed are electrodes and electrical storage devices.
