Abstract: A kit-of-parts for attaching a preferably biological object and/or a non-biological object, e.g. a bacterial cell, on a substrate (1, 1'), e.g. a cantilever for use in atomic force microscopy (AFM) comprises (i) at least a first solution comprising at least one first compound, wherein the first compound is at least one of a gelling agent, a gellable agent, and a thickening agent, e.g. agar, Nation, chitosan or polyacrylamide, and (ii) at least a first substrate (1, 1') comprising a surface (2, 2'), wherein at least a first part (3, 3') of the surface (2, 2') of the substrate (1, 1 ') is preferably functionalized, e.g. using glutaraldehyde. The first solution is suitable for forming at least a first dispersion of the at least one biological object and/or non-biological object. The first dispersion and the preferably functionalized surface (3, 3') of the substrate (1, T) are suitable for attaching the object on the surface (3, 3') of the substrate (1, T).
