Abstract: A method of configuring a stand alone or a networked computer allows running two or more copies of an operating system sequentially, and swapping between running of one of the operating system copies to another copy. The method steps comprise: creating an operating system copy at a first address, configured to run from a second address; copying the operating system to a third address; and providing means for a user to inform the computer that one of the addresses is another of the addresses or is to be treated as another of said addresses, in order that a user-selected one of the operating system copies can be run.

Abstract: An axial flux rotating machine comprises a rotatable component and a stator component. The rotatable component includes a rotor having an axis of rotation and an even number of permanent magnets disposed in a circle at a radial distance from said axis and supported for rotation about said axis. The stator component comprises at least one open ended transformer core member with one or more electrically conductive wire coils around the core member. The transformer core member and said rotatable component are aligned so that the permanent magnets induce an alternating magnetic field in the open ended transformer cores when the rotatable component rotates.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a live avirulent infectious pancreatic necrosis virus which has been shown to be genetically stable in biological studies. Fish exposed to said virus turn out positive for the virus without showing any signs of disease and the avirulent virus has also been shown to protect the fish against IPN for an extended period of time after administration. Thus, a vaccine comprising said virus and said virus for the prophylaxis or treatment of infectious pancreatic necrosis disease are also part of the present invention.

Abstract: A method of electronically copying data is disclosed. The method comprises reading data from data sectors 24a, 24b, 24c of a storage medium (12) into a RAM buffer (14) and then reading disk configuration and data placement tables (22) from the storage medium. New data placement tables (30) are calculated for defining storage placement of data on a target storage medium (20). Data read from the data sectors is manipulated whilst in the RAM buffer (14) in accordance with one or more algorithms for increasing data transfer rate from said RAM buffer to the target storage medium. The manipulated data is then written to the target storage medium.
