Abstract: Self-propelled wrapping machine (1) movable around a load for wrapping it with a plastic film, comprising: a self-propelled carriage (2); an upright (3) fixed to the carriage (2) and slidably supporting a moving slide (4) movable along the upright (3) and provided with connection means (6); first actuator means (21, 22) to move respectively the carriage (2) around the load and the moving slide (4) along said upright (3); an unwinding unit (5; 15) provided with a reel (101) of film (100) and roller means (18; 19) at least for guiding and unwinding the film (100) and comprising quick coupling means (7) which can be coupled to and uncoupled from said connection means (6); a main drive and control system (31) associated with the carriage (2) and/or to the upright (3) and configured to operate and control at least the first actuator means (21, 22) and a complementary drive and control system (32) associated with the unwinding unit (5; 15) and configured to operate and control second actuator means (23) and/or third actuator means (24, 25, 26) acting on the roller means (18; 19) and/or to receive and process signals relating to operating parameters of the unwinding unit (5; 15) from sensor means (28) thereof; said main drive and control system (31) and the complementary drive and control system (32) being reversibly electrically connectable to each other by connector means (38, 39) to exchange control signals and transfer electric power supply.
