Methods and systems for providing access to contents which are semantically related to a displayed content(s). The access can be provided through a multi-dimensional user interface (UI). The method includes detecting a predefined gesture with respect to a first content. Based on the detected gesture, determining closest semantically linked content (second content). The semantic link between the first content and the second content can be established based on parameters such as sharing history, frequency of usage, type, a location, similarity, hierarchy, key words/phrases, tags, and so on. The semantically linked contents can be assigned onto distinct dimensions of the multi-dimensional UI space. The multi-dimensional UI space can be traversed through different dimensions using the predefined gesture, and each traversal from one dimension to another can be semantically linked.

An electronic device to provide a fluid user interface (UI) and a method thereof are provided. The electronic device includes a display configured to display at least one first icon, an inputter configured to receive a user command to select the at least one first icon and move the at least one first icon to another area of the display, and at least one processor configured to control the display to determine a duration to receive the user command and determine a moving distance of the user command, and display at least one second icon located around the at least one first icon based on the duration and the moving distance.

The method for suggesting at least one modality of interaction, includes: identifying, by an electronic device, initiation of an interaction by a user with a first device using a first modality; detecting, by the electronic device, an intent of the user and a state of the user based on the identified initiated interaction; determining, by the electronic device, at least one of a second modality and at least one second device, to continue the initiated interaction, based on the detected intent of the user and the detected state of the user; and providing, by the electronic device, a suggestion to the user to continue the interaction with the first device using the determined second modality, by indicating the second modality on the first device or the at least one second device.

A method and a device for providing contextual information. The method includes detecting an invocation of a camera application via a user-input while executing a non-camera application by a device. The method further includes identifying content from one or more of a preview of the camera application and multi-media captured by the camera application. Further, the method includes identifying contextual information based on one or more of the identified content and information available from the non-camera application. Further, the method includes allowing the identified contextual information to be shared between the camera application and the non-camera application.
