Abstract:
A method is provided for controlling retransmission by a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system supporting Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology. A plurality of transport blocks is initially transmitted to a Node B. A retransmission request for at least one transport block among the plurality of transport blocks is received from the Node B. A precoding matrix for retransmission of the at least one transport block is determined based on the retransmission request for the at least one transport block. The at least one transport block is retransmitted using the determined precoding matrix.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for mapping coded data symbols to resources in a mobile communication system. An S/P converter converts a serial signal including user data or control information into a plurality of parallel signals. A DFT unit performs Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) on the parallel signals output from the S/P converter. A controller controls the DFT unit so that among the signals output from the S/P converter, a control channel is mapped in the maximum available resources to which the control channel can be mapped, among the resources included in a resource block, and data symbols are mapped to the remaining resources, except for the maximum available resources to which the control channel can be mapped. A subcarrier mapper allocates the signals output from the DFT unit to subcarriers. An RF processor converts a signal output from the subcarrier mapper into a radio signal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for hopping of a CDMA control segment that carries control information in an OFDMA packet data mobile communication system are provided, in which a number of CDMA control segment hopping zones, each CDMA control segment hopping zone representing a frequency area for CDMA control segment hopping, is determined according to a total number of available tiles in the system and a number of tiles per CDMA control segment, each tile including a predetermined number of subcarriers, or according to a total number of available subcarriers in the system and a number of subcarriers per CDMA control segment. Start points of the hopping zones are determined using the number of the hopping zones, and the control information is transmitted or received in the CDMA control segment through hopping of the CDMA control segment over the hopping zones using the start points.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for efficiently transmitting/receiving a control channel in a mobile communication system simultaneously supporting a synchronous High-Rate Packet Data (HRPD) system and an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system. Power of a control channel to be transmitted is measured. The measured power is compared with marginal maximum power set by a higher layer. According to the comparison result, information indicating whether a previous reverse packet has been successfully received and power control information for controlling power of a reverse link is inserted and transmitted in at least one of a Medium Access Control (MAC) channel and an OFDM symbol.
Abstract:
A transmission apparatus for transmitting packet data in a forward link of a High Rate Packet Data (HRPD) system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first transmission processor for modulating physical link packet data according to an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission scheme; a second transmission processor for modulating the physical link packet data according to a Evolution Data Only (EV-DO) transmission scheme; an HRPD-compatible processor for generating a transmission signal based on a slot structure of the HRPD system using one of output signals of the first and second transmission processors, and transmitting the transmission signal to a wireless network; and a controller for controlling transmission of the transmission signal according to a selected one of the OFDM transmission scheme and the EV-DO transmission scheme.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for allocating resources in a base station of a wireless communication system that performs communication using frequency resources. The method includes dividing subcarriers into subcarrier sets each including a predetermined number of consecutive subcarriers, and generating a resource index table mapped to consecutive indexes such that a distance between subcarriers in the subcarrier sets is maximized; and determining an amount of resources to be transmitted through a downlink according to a channel condition, for data to be transmitted to each terminal, and allocating resources to the terminal using the index value in the resource index table.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a broadcast physical layer packet in a mobile communication system supporting multi-slot transmission and hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (H-ARQ) are provided. The method comprises initially transmitting the broadcast physical layer packet according to a fixed transmission format for at least one first slot interval and retransmitting the broadcast physical layer packet for at least one second slot interval using a variable transmission format different from the transmission format used in the first slot interval.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method transmits a packet data symbol in a high-rate packet data (HRPD) mobile communication system for broadcasting service. A transmission processor generates a modulated symbol by encoding, interleaving and modulating a physical layer packet to be transmitted, and arranges the modulated symbol in a data tone. A tone inserter inserts a guard tone and a pilot tone into the data tone. A tone power allocator sets a different pilot-to-data tone power ratio according to a position of a slot, in which the packet data symbol is included, and allocates power according to the pilot-to-data tone power ratio. A transmitter transmits the packet data symbol.
Abstract:
A method of efficiently assigning a plurality of reverse HARQ channels to an MS in a BS in a mobile communication system supporting HARQ is provided. To transmit reverse data to the BS, the MS transmits a reverse data rate request message to the BS, receives from the BS one grant message containing a reverse data rate, and transmits to the BS different packet data at predetermined intervals at the reverse data rate on a packet data channel.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for transmitting processing reference signals in a mobile communication system. A base station determines a reference signal pattern comprising at least one resource element, generates a bitmap indicator indicating whether zero transmission power is assigned to the at least one resource element of the reference signal pattern, and transmits the reference signal pattern and the bitmap indicator to a terminal. The terminal receives the reference signal pattern and the bitmap indicator, and processes a reference signal extracted according to the reference signal pattern and the bitmap indicator.
