    Abstract: An electromagnetic relay (10) includes a winding (12), a magnetic core (18) disposed within the winding, and an armature (30) mounted for movement at a first end of the winding. At least one movable circuit contact (36a, 36b) is operably associated with the armature (30) and movable with respect to at least one stationary contact mounted in the relay responsive to motion of the armature. An end plate (14) is mounted at an opposing end of the winding (12) and an insulating sheet (20) is folded about a portion of the winding. The insulating sheet (20) has first and second sides, with the first side being secured on one end to the end plate (14), and the second end disposed between the armature (30) and the first end of the winding. An outer frame (28) covers at least a portion of the insulating sheet (20). The insulating sheet functions to reduce the occurrence of voltage breakdown within the relay.

    Abstract: An improved relay terminal (26) comprises a single piece of sheet metal having an elongated portion bent along one or both elongated edges thereof to define a flanged connecting pin (40) and embossed to form a plurality of protuberances (44) in a body portion (48) for securing the terminal in an appropriate receptacle (60) formed in a relay base (10). The terminal (26) may also include a spring portion (26b) and a bearing portion (26a) for receiving force from a moving armature (22).
