Abstract: An optical trocar assembly which comprises an elongated tubular member (6) for receiving an endoscope which defines a longitudinal axis and has an open proximal end and a closed, optically clear distal end (10) which is adapted for penetrating body tissue. The optical trocar assembly further comprises a handle (2) which is releasably connected to the elongated tubular member (6) and which defines a passage which is coaxial with the longitudinal axis and which has a distal portion and proximal portion. The distal portion is for receiving the open proximal end and the proximal portion defines a tapering opening which is tapered in the direction towards the distal portion. The optical trocar assembly further comprises a locking collet (4) positioned within the tapering opening, having a through bore which is coaxial with the longitudinal axis and the tapering external surface. One of the tapering opening and the tapering external surface comprises a helical rib and the other of the tapering opening and the tapering external surface defines a helical recess for engaging the helical rib.

Abstract: A handle for a surgical instrument which includes two protrusions set at different distances from the end of the handle. Depending on the hand size of a user, the user can select which protrusion to use. The handle reduces instrument inventory by allowing use of the same instrument handle by users with different hand sizes. A surgical instrument using the handle is also described. In one embodiment the handle comprises a housing defining a longitudinal axis. A first end of the housing is at one end of the longitudinal axis. The housing comprises a first protrusion positioned a first distance from the first end of the housing for use by a user having a first size of hand and a second protrusion positioned a second distance from the first end of the housing for use by a user having a second size of hand. Both the first protrusion and the second protrusion are configured to receive a digit of a user and to allow the digit to apply a force to the housing in the direction of the longitudinal axis towards the first end. The first distance is greater than the second distance. Depending on the user's size of hand they can select which of the first or second protrusions to use.

Abstract: A cooking device comprises a base that carries a preferably removable bottom cooking plate. The bottom cooking plate is chromium coated to minimize food-sticking on the cooking surface and to maximize heat distribution on the cooking surface. The coating may be bonded to a steel layer that is further joined to an efficient heat distributor, such as aluminum. The device may further have a top cooking plate that can be carried by an upper housing. The device can be, without limitation, a grill. Abstract: A component interface assembly for attaching the individual subcomponents of an RTA furniture system. Each component interface assembly having an elongated alignment slot cut into one of the subcomponents of the RTA furniture kit and a retention element affixed to a second corresponding subcomponent such that the first and second subcomponents can be secured together by inserting the retention element into the alignment slot.
