    摘要: A substrate for and a method to purify fluids, especially of biological origin, is provided here. The substrate has one dimensionally self-organized or self-assembled inorganic nanofibers. The fibers have diameter below 100 nm and ultra-high aspect ratio (length: diameter > 100,000:1). The substrate has a high porosity (over 50%) due to week bonds between adjacent fibers. The substrate is capable of withstanding temperatures over 350°C. A method to purify fluids is also provided.

    摘要: A composite shielding material in the form of syntactic foam where the spherical or spherical-like articles are encompassed by an organic or inorganic matrix material, and coated with a layer of nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, graphene flakes. Such articles may be alternatively or additionally be covered with nano-sized metal particles and the mould is filled with organic or inorganic matrix, and micro and/or nano-sized reinforcement elements. Such material possesses both reflective and absorptive properties to improve shielding effectiveness. Also process for making the same is disclosed. The composite material can be used as an electromagnetic, thermal or acoustic shield.
