Abstract: A presentation attack detection system includes RGB and thermal imaging cameras for acquiring images of an individual and a processor operable to determine a metric for whether the individual is a real human based on the thermal imaging and RGB image data. Related methods are also described.

Abstract: A fast face capture system and process for identifying an individual as the individual walks through a designated area is described. A set of raw images is streamed from a long wavelength infrared camera and visible light spectrum camera for detecting individuals entering the designated area. The temperature of the individual is detected based on evaluating an area in a thermal image bound by an ROI. Preferably, the ROI is first detected in a visible light image and mapped onto the thermal image of the individual. Also described herein is a method and system that computes a transformation matrix or mapping between image points from a visible light camera and that of a long wavelength infrared camera image. A novel calibration target includes patterns that are simultaneously detectable in both the visible light and long infrared wavelength range.

Abstract: A fast face capture system and process for identifying an individual as the individual walks through a designated area is described. A set of raw images is streamed from at least one camera for detecting individuals entering the designated area. If a face is detected, face tracking is commenced to obtain a sequence of candidate images for each individual as the individual walks through the designated area. A maximum quality image is selected from the sequence of candidate images for each individual based on at least one quality metric, the elapsed time, and the quality select count in the sequence of the candidate images. The maximum quality image is submitted for matching with a verified image of the person. The invention has particular application to security check points for quickly matching the face of the moving person with a previously acquired and verified identity.

Abstract: An access control system comprises at least one door; an electromechanical device for permitting access through the at least one door; one or more illumination sources; at least one camera in the vicinity of the door; and a computer processor framework attached to the door or, optionally, embedded in the door. The processors are further operable to determine a level of confidence the subject is a match with an authorized individual based on evaluating biometric information, optionally the face, of the subject and the authorized individual; and to activate the device based on the level of intent and the level of confidence.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying customers aboard a cruise ship for provision of products and location access and for embarkation or disembarkation. Systems can include a data store on the cruise ship storing customer profiles of customers, a plurality of networked computing devices including image capture devices, and a processor in communication with the data store and the networked computing devices. The processor receives access requests in conjunction with images of the requestors, uses facial recognition software algorithms to identify the requestor as a customer entitled to the requested access, based on facial recognition data stored for the customer, and causes access to be granted to the customer. Confidence levels of facial recognition results may be improved by combining initial facial recognition results with additional cruise-specific information associated with customers.
