Abstract:
Moisture responsive members are disposed outboard of the absorbent core within disposable absorbent articles. The moisture responsive members expand in response to moisture from the wearer of the absorbent article thereby creating a seal between the moisture responsive member and the wearer of the absorbent article. The moisture responsive members can be disposed along the longitudinal sides of the disposable absorbent article or along the waist edges, both front and rear, of the disposable absorbent article.
Abstract:
A disposable pull-on garment is disclosed. The pull-on garment has a waist opening and two leg openings and extends in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction. The pull-on garment comprises an absorbent main body and a ring-like elastic belt. The absorbent main body comprises a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed therebetween. The absorbent main body has left and right longitudinally extending side edges, front and back transversely extending end edges, longitudinally opposing front and back waist panels, and a crotch panel between the waist panels. The ring-like elastic belt comprises a front belt portion and a back belt portion. Each of the ring-like belt comprises a belt layer and a belt elastic material joined to the belt layer. Each of the ring-like elastic belt has transversely extending proximal and distal edges, longitudinally extending left and right side edges connecting the proximal and distal edges, the proximal edge being located closer than the distal edge relative to the crotch panel of the absorbent main body, a central panel, and left and right side panels contiguous with its central panel. Each side panel having a longitudinal length defined by the respective side edge of the respective belt portion. The central panel of the front belt portion is joined to the front waist panel of the absorbent main body. The central panel of the back belt portion is joined to the back waist panel of the absorbent main body. The respective left and right side panels of the front belt portion and the back belt portion are joined together at or adjacent to the respective left and right side edges to form the waist opening and the two leg openings. The longitudinal lengths of the side panels of the back belt portion are greater than the longitudinal lengths of the respective side panels of the front belt portion.
Abstract:
A unitary disposable absorbent article includes: an absorbent core having a garment surface and a body surface, a liquid permeable topsheet positioned adjacent said body surface of said absorbent core, a liquid impermeable backsheet positioned adjacent said garment surface of said absorbent core and an elastically contractible dual cuff. The dual cuff has a proximate end and a distal end. The dual cuff is joined to the article by an intermediate bond. The dual cuff has a first cuff and a second cuff. The first cuff is disposed between the proximate end and the intermediate bond. The second cuff is disposed between the intermediate bond and the distal end. The dual cuff is constructed of a continuous cuff material and enclosed by a cuff end bond. The second cuff is spaced away from the backsheet. The backsheet extends outboard of the distal end.
Abstract:
An improved air filter bag comprising a height from about 35 cm to about 50 cm; a nominal diameter from about 10 to about 40 cm; and a first taper angle from about 65 o to about 83 o is provided.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent insert for a two-piece wearable absorbent article having features for the containment and absorption of bodily exudates. The insert may be adapted to be used with an outer cover and may have containment and absorption features including cuff structures that prevent soiling of the outer cover by the wearer's exudates, so that the outer cover may be reused after an exudation event and change of inserts. The insert may have features to enhance containment, absorption, economy of materials and/or fit that makes it asymmetric about its lateral axis, and may have features that direct a user to install the insert with correct front-rear orientation relative the outer cover and/or the wearer.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a disposable pull-on diaper having a wearer-facing surface and a garment-facing surface; a longitudinal centerline and a lateral centerline; a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region disposed between the front and back waist regions. The front waist region and back waist region of the pull-on diaper interconnect to form a waist opening and leg openings. The pull-on diaper comprises an absorbent assembly and an elastic belt. The absorbent assembly comprises a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet. The elastic belt may exhibit less than about 80% of the maximum force after 15 seconds as measured by the Percent Release Test.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article comprising a chassis which includes a front region having two opposing longitudinal edges; a back region having two opposing longitudinal edges; a crotch region having two longitudinal edges wherein said crotch region is disposed between said front and back regions; and at least two side panels extending outwardly from the two opposing longitudinal edges of one or both of the front or back regions and interconnecting said front and the back regions to form a waist opening and a pair of leg openings; wherein the article exhibits a pre-application side panel length, L i , and a post-application side panel length, L f , such that L i is less than L f .
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article comprising a chassis comprising a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet joined with the topsheet, and an absorbent core interposed between the topsheet and backsheet; at least one sidwall adjacently disposed to the chassis; and at least one handle assisting in the application of the article onto a wearer. Preferred embodiments of the said handle include flaps, tabs, ridges, improved surface characteristics, apertures, loops, and combinations thereof. A toilet training kit comprising the article in the form of a training pant and an instruction to the caregiver for transitioning the infant to propert toilet use. A kit comprising more than one absorbent article wherein the article is positioned within said kit such that the handle is readily accessible.
Abstract:
Absorbent article having a containment assembly and leg openings, the margins of which may be highly elastically extensible. The absorbent article may also have outer leg cuffs providing a finished appearance. The absorbent article may thus provide ease of application and removal, sustained dynamic fit, prevention of leakage, sustained wearer comfort, and desirable appearance.
Abstract:
A pull-on wearable article includes a main portion including an outer cover, the main portion defining a front waist region, a rear waist region, and a crotch region extending between and connecting the front and rear waist regions. First and second extendable side panels extend between and connect the main portion front waist region and the main portion rear waist region to form the article in a closed waist configuration, at least a portion of each side panel being extendable between a relaxed state and an extended state. The article defines first and second side regions, each side region including one of the first and second side panels and a transverse region of the main portion bordering the respective side panel. An informational image is disposed in at least the first side region. The article may further include a texture feature formed in an outer surface of the article and positioned proximate to the informational image to form a composite image. Alternatively or additionally, the image includes a cognitively functional graphic.
