Die Erfindung betrifft ein Filterelement (10), insbesondere Luftfilterelement, mit zwei Endscheiben (12, 14) und einem zwischen den Endscheiben (12, 14) angeordneten Filtermaterial (16), das einen Reinluftbereich (18) von einem Rohluftbereich (20) trennt. Erfindungswesentlich ist dabei, dass die Endscheiben (12, 14) über das Filtermaterial (16) überstehen, dass das Filterelement (10) eine Außenwand (22) aufweist, die in einem Randbereich der Endscheiben (12, 14) angeordnet ist, die die Endscheiben (12, 14) miteinander verbindet und die in einem Abstand zu dem Filtermaterial (16) verläuft, und dass das Filterelement (10) mindestens eine Rohluftöffnung (30) und mindestens eine Reinluftöffnung (26) aufweist. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung ein Sandwichfilterelement (89) aus zwei solchen Filterelementen (10) und ein Verfahren zur Herstellung solcher Filterelemente (10).

The present invention relates to a porous elongate filter unit for filtering particular matter from a gaseous mixture as obtainable during the pyrolysis of biomass, comprising: a first layer and a second layer of porous, gas permeable filter media. The invention further relates to a process and apparatus for the pyrolysis of biomass using the filter unit, and to the products thus obtained.

A filter element includes a media pack and a gasket member. The gasket member includes first and second gasket regions separated by a channel. One or more filter elements are usable in a dust collector. One example dust collector includes a collector housing having a dirty air inlet, a clean air outlet, and a tube sheet dividing the housing between an unfiltered air volume and a clean air volume. At least one filter element is removably mounted and sealed within the tube sheet. A gasket member secured to the element includes first and second gasket regions separated by a channel. At least one projection angled relative to a plane of the tube sheet extends into the channel of the gasket member. A method of servicing a dust collector includes removing a first filter element from the tube sheet in the housing, and then sealing a second filter element against the tube sheet by orienting at least one projection extending from a plane of the tube sheet into a channel defined by a gasket member secured to the second filter element. Next, an axial force is exerted against the gasket member to form a seal between the gasket member and the tube sheet.

A filter cleaning device for a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner comprises a filter (100) moveably mounted within the dust collection canister (101). An annular collar (200) is provided at a region of the dust collection canister (101) such that the filter (100) is capable of being moved relative to the collar (200) via a plunger-like motion to and from the canister (101). Through this motion, the external surface of the filter (100) is wiped by the annular collar (200). Hair, fluff and debris matter collected at the filter's external surface is wiped by the collar (200) and removal is facilitated by incorporating a tapered region within the filter.

According to the present disclosure an air cleaner and air filter cartridge arrangement is provided. The air filter cartridge is a removable and replaceable cartridge for use in the air cleaner. The cartridge includes, among other things, an end cap having a preferred outwardly directed radial seal and a groove. The air cleaner includes a housing with a ring projecting into an interior, positioned to project against an end of the filter cartridge, when the filter cartridge is mounted for use. Methods of assembly and installation are described.

The invention relates to a filter (1) for a dust-laden gas, comprising a plurality of filter candles (18). Each filter candle has a filter body (22) arranged in a raw gas chamber (6) and an outlet opening into a clean gas chamber (8). Maintenance or replacement of an individual filter candle (18) requires little effort. According to the invention, a partition wall (12) is located between the raw gas chamber (6) and the clean gas chamber (8) in an area (14) designed to accommodate the filter candles (18)and configured as an approximately cylindrical supporting sleeve (16).
