Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for use in relation to guided radiation therapy systems. In one form three is disclosed a system and method for use in motion tracking of target in a guided radiation therapy system. There is described a method for estimating the motion of a target from a 2-dimensional projection of the target, said 2- dimensional projection being captured in a plane parallel to a first axis (y axis) at a rotational angle θ, about the first axis. The method can comprise: Identifying the target in said projection; Determining the translational movement of the target in 3 dimensions and rotational movement of the target in 3 dimensions based on said projections.
