Abstract:
The invention is directed on a torque limiting coupling (7) for a driveline (1) comprising a fluid chamber (27) within a twin walled sleeve (23) to provide a fictional engagement to a shaft (11). A shear-off tube (37) is in fluid connection to the fluid chamber (27) and is assigned to a shear-off gate (45). The shear off gate is fixedly connected to the shaft to open the fluid chamber (27) by shearing the shear-off tube (37) with the shear off gate (45). At least a first shear-off tube (37) and second shear- off tube (37) are arranged for closure of the fluid chamber (27) and for interaction with shear-off gate (45). The shear-off gate (45) provides at least one cut-off edge (51, 53), wherein at a position of blockage (38) of one of the shear-off tubes (37) by one cut-off edge (51, 53), the other shear-off tube (37) is positioned at an unblocked position.
Abstract:
Safety coupling (1) comprising a driving coupling member (3) engaged with a driven coupling member (5) by a frictional connection (6). The frictional connection (6) can be disconnected by activation of a release element (17). The release element (17) can be activated by a centrifugal device (22) wherein a centrifugal unit (24) of the centrifugal device (22) is radial moveable to interact with a shifting gate (50) in dependence of the revolution speed of the centrifugal unit (24) and the slip between the driving coupling member (3) and the driven coupling member (5). The centrifugal device (22) comprises a stop (35) to limit the centrifugal force applied to the centrifugal unit (24).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a torque transmitting shaft and includes within the shaft an adapted intermediate member (10), which has a first end section (11), that is intended for a rotationally rigid co- action with a first universal joint yoke (21) and a second end section (12) intended for a rotationally rigid co-action with a second universal joint yoke (22). The intermediate member (10) and its end section (11) is configured as and comprises two parts or sub sections (11a, 11b), which are mutually joined via a safety coupling arrangement (7), by means of which a disengagement of said subsections (11a, 11b) from one other can be ensured immediately after the torque exceeds a predetermined value. The first end section (11) and its closely adjacent universal joint yoke (21) includes an axially orientated cylindrical groove (13).
