Abstract: Exemplary embodiments integrate a tee or valve into an outlet end fitting of a liquid chromatography column. The tee or valve is suitable for providing additional fluidic flow paths to ports of the end fitting and eliminates the need for post-column fluidic conduits connecting to tees or valves to insert fluidic inputs or divert flow to outputs. This integration decreases the distance that eluent from the liquid chromatography column has to travel to reach a detector relative to systems that use external tees or valves while providing tee/valve functionality and reducing the fluidic volume post-column. As a result, the exemplary embodiments help decrease sample dispersion.

Abstract: A removable seal device for fluidic coupling includes a seal body (69-97) extending between a first end and a second end, the seal body including an inner channel (65) configured to receive a flow of a fluid. The first end of the seal body includes a first sealing surface configured to create a first seal with a fitting sealing surface of a receiver fitting (80), and the seal body incudes a second sealing surface configured to create a second seal with an end of a fluidic tube. The removable seal is configured to be removably secured to at least one of the fluidic tube (16), a support feature (94) fixed to the fluidic tube (16), and a compression screw (70), such that untightening of the compression screw (70) from the receiver fitting (80) causes the removable seal device to be removed from the receiver fitting.

Abstract: A clamp assembly includes a rail 62 extending along a length and configured to receive a first fluidic assembly, and a carriage 64 movably attachable to the rail 62 such that the carriage moves along the rail, the carriage 64 configured to receive a second fluidic assembly, the carriage including an actuator 65 and a stop mechanism. The stop mechanism is configured to selectively prevent and allow movement of the carriage 64 relative to the rail 62. The stop mechanism is configured to be independently operable from the actuator assembly, and the actuator is configured: to move a chromatography column received by the clamp assembly relative to the rail to create a first fluid tight seal between the chromatography column and the first fluidic assembly, and move the second fluidic assembly relative to the carriage body to create a second fluid tight seal between the second fluidic assembly and the chromatography column.

Abstract: A liquid chromatography system includes a solvent delivery system, a sample manager including a sample delivery system in fluidic communication with the solvent delivery system, the sample delivery system configured to inject a sample from a sample-vial into a chromatographic flow stream, a liquid chromatography column located downstream from the sample delivery system, and a detector located downstream from the liquid chromatography column. The sample delivery system further includes a first needle drive including a first sample needle configured to extract the sample from the sample-vial and deliver the sample to the liquid chromatography column, and a first syringe in communication with the first sample needle configured to meter extraction of the sample from the sample-vial. The sample manager further includes a sample automation system that includes a second needle drive including a second sample needle configured to add a volume of reagent to the sample-vial.
