    摘要: A blood pressure monitoring system that includes a compact housing that contains a pneumatic circuit that is removably attached to an inflatable cuff by a hoseless connector so that the cuff can be inflated and deflated to provide blood pressure readings that are detected by a pressure sensor. A controller is also contained in the housing which controls the circuit activities and records blood pressure related data. The controller is linked via a bi-directional communication system with a processor that is contained in a host station which programs the controller and collects and records blood pressure related data. The communication system also allows the monitoring system to communicate over a wider network with other remote stations.

    摘要: The invention relates to a blood pressure monitor for measuring the blood pressure of a person including a blood pressure cuff. The blood pressure monitor also includes an electro-pneumatic package. The electro-pneumatic package includes a pump, a valve, a pressure sensor, and one or more accelerometers. A pneumatic mechanical coupling is configured to pneumatically and mechanically directly couple the blood pressure cuff to the electro-pneumatic package, wherein a signal from the one or more accelerometers configured to indicate an activity level of the person during a blood pressure measurement. A display is configured to display an indication of the activity level. The invention also relates to a blood pressure monitor wherein an electronics circuit is configured to receive the motion signal from the one or more accelerometers during a blood pressure measurement. The invention also relates to a method for detecting a motion artifact in a non¬ invasive blood pressure measurement.

    摘要: The diastolic blood pressure and a systolic blood pressure of a vertebrate arc measured using an inflatable pressure cuff disposed about a limb of the vertebrate and connected to an inflation device through a single conduit. A pressure sensor is pneumatically connected to the cuff through the same common conduit. The sensed pressures at the diastolic and systolic points are corrected for a pressure differential associated with the flow of an inflation fluid through the common conduit. The sensed pressures at the diastolic point and the systolic point may be measured during inflation of the cuff or during controlled deflation of the cuff.

    摘要: A method is provided for blood pressure measurement by means of an inflatable cuff (50) applied to a limb of a vertebrate and pneumatically coupled to a first port (112A) and a second port (112B) of a blood pressure measurement apparatus (100). A pump (160) coupled to the second port inflates the cuff pneumatically. During an initial cuff inflation period, a first pressure sensor (180) pneumatically coupled to the first port senses a first pressure and a second pressure sensor (182) pneumatically coupled to the second port senses a second pressure. An analysis module (142) compares the magnitude of the first pressure to the magnitude of the second pressure to determine the relative relationship between the respective magnitudes of the first pressure and the second pressure. The relative relationship between these pressure may be used to determine whether a single lumen or dual lumen cuff is use, to determine whether the blood pressure measurement procedure selected is correct for the cuff actually in use, or to automatically select the proper blood pressure measurement procedure to be used for the actual cuff in use.
