Abstract:
Intravascular devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, side- loading electrical connectors for use with intravascular devices are provided. The side-loading electrical connector has at least one electrical contact configured to interface with an electrical connector of the intravascular device. A first connection piece of the side-loading electrical connector is movable relative to a second connection piece such that in an open position an elongated opening is formed between the first and second connection pieces to facilitate side- loading of the intravascular device into the connector and in the closed position the at least one electrical contact is electrically coupled to the at least one electrical connector of the intravascular device received between the first and second connection pieces and a communication cable extends from the connector in a direction coaxial with or parallel to the longitudinal axis of the intravascular device.
Abstract:
A pair of cooperating catheters are used together to provide rapid access to the Left heart for diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. The initial entry point for the catheter pair is the groin. The pair of catheters can be used to carry out an electrographic determination of the location of the Fossa Ovalis on the septum. Features on the Catheter system permit quick and reliable confirmation of the catheter location via echo or x-rays. Once across the septum the inner catheter is removed from the outer catheter and a standard intervention may be carried out through the lumen of the outer catheter.
Abstract:
A garment for use in system for monitoring the technique of a user undertaking a physical activity which comprises a securing region for securing the garment against a part of the users body, wherein said securing region comprises an interface connector suitable for connecting to a processing unit, and said garment further comprising at least one data transmission path connected to said interface connector and suitable for connection to a sensor and/or a control switch In use the garment 100 enables the collection of data associated with the motion of the user, the comparison of this data with a biomechanical model of the exercise activity and the provision of a feedback response to the user. This enables the user to enhance their technique, and therefore their performance and reduce the likelihood of injuries.
Abstract:
