Abstract:
There is provided a pellet composition of ruminant feed which reduces the risk of acidosis in the rumen and a process of making such ruminant feed.
Abstract:
Dietary particle compositions for ruminant feed are disclosed, as well as methods for their preparation and use. The compositions may include a fatty acid compound, a core, and at least one encapsulating agent. The dietary particle may have a core coating layer. The fatty acid compound may be in the core or the core coating layer. The core may include a carbohydrate compound and a protein compound. The fatty acid compound may include at least about 90% saturated fatty acids. The fatty acid compound may include a palmitic acid compound.
Abstract:
Liquid dietary compositions for ruminants are disclosed, as well as methods for their preparation and use. The compositions may include a fatty acid component, at least one feed ingredient, and water. The fatty acid component may include less than about 10% by weight of unsaturated fatty acid. The feed ingredient may be selected from a carbohydrate, an amino acid, an amino acid derivative, a vitamin, a trace element, a mineral, a glucogenic precursor, or an antioxidant. The compositions may also include about 25% by weight to about 55% by weight of water.
Abstract:
A feed for ruminants is disclosed in which the starch component of cereal grain has been altered in such a way as to reduce its rate of digestibility by rumen microbes. This feed is produced by applying a reducing carbohydrate to comminuted cereal grain, heating the mixture, and then drying. The result of this treatment is to reduce the impact that feeding rapidly fermentable grains can have on rumen pH and fiber digestion, to provide a more even flow of fermentable starch to support microbial metabolism, and to increase the proportion of starch from fed cereal grain that is delivered to the small intestine.
Abstract:
A method to increase the hot carcass weight of a meat-producing animal. The method orally administers Vitamin C to a meat-producing animal between about 2 and about 48 hours prior to harvest. The animal is then harvested and a hot carcass is prepared from that harvested animal.
Abstract:
Feed additives for farm animals, etc., wherein a suitable amount of sugar is added to umes, small amounts of additives such as spirits (sho &cir& NOt chu &cir& NOt ) and vitamin pills are added, and the obtained mixture is pickled. It is an object of this invention to provide feed additives for farm animals, etc., wherein the thus obtained pickled mixture is given to farm animals or fishes being raised, whereby diseases are prevented, a gain rate and a raising rate are improved, and moreover, a feed conversion rate is improved, so that costs can be greatly reduced.

Abstract:
There is disclosed a stable thixotropic suspension of water insoluble animal feed nutrients in an aqueous feed solution and a method for its preparation. The method comprises forming a liquid gel from an aqueous solution of sugar, protein or mixtures thereof, having a concentration of at least 60 DEG Brix, by adding calcium hydroxide and phosphoric acid or ammonium polyphosphate to the solution. The gel is diluted with water and insoluble feed nutrients such as fat calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, etc., or drugs such as monisan are suspended in the diluted gel. Water soluble feed nutrients such as urea, sodium bicarbonate, etc., can also be added.
Abstract:
Compositions and method for forming a weather resistant, non-flowable and stackable animal feed block from flowable premixes. A first premix comprises particular cane molasses, dissolved calcium chloride, fat, water, and urea having a pH between about 4.4 and about 5.5. A second premix comprises water soluble salts of orthophosphoric acid which when mixed with the first premix provides a block having a hardness of 4.0 in 6 hours or less and minimum loss in field weather conditions. A dry blend of animal feed supplements may be included in the block.
Abstract:
Dietary compositions containing at least one carbohydrate are described herein, as well as methods for their preparation and use. A premix dietary composition may include a fatty acid component and a carbohydrate component. The fatty acid component may include at least about 90% saturated fatty acid by weight. The fatty acid component may be present in the dietary composition in an amount of at least about 30% by weight of the dietary composition.
