Abstract:
A silver-containing tissue dressing for providing antimicrobial properties to a wound site is disclosed. In some embodiments, the tissue dressing may include a wound contact layer having a substrate material coated with a tacky hydrophobic silicone material, and silver- containing particles dispersed in the silicone material. The different surfaces of the substrate material may be coated with the silicone material having various amounts of tackiness, The silver material may provide antimicrobial properties when the tissue dressing is placed in contact with the wound site.
Abstract:
An earplug dispensing mechanism defining a longitudinal axis, and including separator and index assemblies. The separator assembly includes a platform, a guide wall and bores. The guide wall projects from the platform to define a well for receiving earplugs. The bores each extend from an entrance opening to an exit opening. The index assembly is rotatably coupled to the separator assembly, and includes a handle, a plate, and a mixing body. The plate is connected to the handle and defines a dispensing aperture. The mixing body has an upper end, a lower end, and an exterior surface defined by a cone portion and a paddle portion. The cone portion tapers in diameter. The paddle portion projects radially from the cone portion at the lower end. The exterior surface is asymmetrical to encourage earplug mixing within the well, and to impede earplugs from entering a bore open to the dispensing aperture.
Abstract:
An earplug dispensing mechanism defining a longitudinal axis, and including a separator assembly and an index assembly. The separator assembly includes a platform, a guide wall and bores. The guide wall projects from the platform to define a well for receiving earplugs from a container. Each bore is open to the well at an entrance opening. The guide wall forms a close, compound curve shape in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and surrounding the entrance openings. The index assembly is rotatably coupled to the separator assembly, and includes a handle, a plate, and a mixing body. The plate is connected to the handle and defines a dispensing aperture. The mixing body is connected to the plate opposite the handle. Rotation of the handle selectively aligns the dispensing aperture with individual ones of the bores, with the guide wall shape funneling earplugs in the well toward the bores.
Abstract:
A glove dispenser (10) and a disposable glove (20) adapted to be dispensed from the glove dispenser. The glove has a graspable member (22) extending outwardly from a wrist- covering portion (29) of the glove. The dispenser comprises a container (11) having a plurality of sides that define an interior space (21) for the storage of one or more of the gloves. The container has an opening (15) in at least one of the sides to the interior space formed therein, a first portion (16) of the opening being sized to receive a graspable member extending from a glove stored in the interior space, and a second portion (19) of the opening being sized to allow for the removal of a glove stored in the interior space.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a packaging for storing a form-stable coiled collagen carrier. The form-stable coiled collagen carrier comprises a collagen layer and a coating layer comprising thrombin and fibrinogen and having the shape of an elongated element with a number of windings of the collagen carrier about the longitudinal axis of the elongated element with at least one outer winding(s) being orientated so that the coating layer constitutes the outer surface of each of said outer winding(s). The packaging preferably comprises a container part having a compartment in which at least a part of the coiled collagen carrier is contained.
Abstract:
Devices, kits and methods described herein may be for treatment to skin, including but not limited to wound healing, the treatment, amelioration, and/or prevention of scars or keloids. A book-like packaging, applicator and/or tensioning device may be used to apply a dressing to a subject. The packaging, applicator and/or tensioning device may apply and/or maintain a strain in an elastic dressing.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a packaged medical adhesive composite and a method of delivering the composite. The medical adhesive composite comprises a single tab as a release liner that partially covers the adhesive side of the composite. The tab can be used to apply the composite with only a single hand, even without compromising the sterility of the absorbent pad used to cover a wound. The medical adhesive composite can comprise an especially thin supple backing and be delivered over a wound with little or no wrinkling of the backing. The medical adhesive composite can be delivered such that the composite overlaps with itself when applied, for example, to a finger.
