Abstract:
Disclosed herein are aqueous dental coating compositions and methods for enhancing contrast of intraoral surfaces for 3-dimensional digital scanning. The compositions include: an aqueous solvent system; a water soluble polymer present at no greater than 5 wt.%, based on the total weight of the aqueous dental coating composition; hydrophilic particles; and hydrophobic particles, wherein the aqueous dental coating composition is a dispersion or a dispersion of the hydrophilic particles and hydrophobic particles in the aqueous solvent system can be formed by shaking the composition for 30 seconds.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a dental impression material that includes a two part addition curing silicone composition. The disclosed impression material contains a surfactant system composed of a fluorosurfactant and a fatty alcohol ethoxylate. The impression material disclosed herein exhibits improved storage stability than known systems using fluorosurfactants and silicone ether compounds.
Abstract:
A dental retraction and impression system providing self-retracting and impression taking of a prepared tooth in one step. Paired setting materials simultaneously retract gingiva, widen a sulcus around the tooth, and take an impression of the tooth and margins. A low viscosity setting gingival retracting impression material having an astringent and a high viscosity setting impression material set together. The high viscosity setting impression material is heavy body and has a higher viscosity than the low viscosity setting gingival retracting material so as to force the low viscosity setting gingival retracting impression material into the gingival space or sulcus.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a kit of parts comprising a Base Paste (B) and a Catalyst Paste (C), Base Paste (B) comprising a cationically hardenable component, Catalyst Paste (C) comprising a starter component suitable to contribute to the hardening of the cationically hardenable compound, the composition obtained when combining the compositions of Base Paste (B) and Catalyst Paste (C) comprising in addition a porous water-adsorbing component and water, the porous water-adsorbing component being selected from molecular sieves, zeolites, silica gel and mixtures thereof, wherein either the porous water-adsorbing component is present in Base Paste (B) and the water is present in Catalyst Paste (C), or the water-adsorbing component is present in Catalyst Paste (C) and the water is present in Base Paste (B). The invention also relates to a dental retraction composition obtainable by mixing Base Paste (B) and Catalyst Paste (C) and to a process of taking a dental impression and/or conducting a dental retraction using the kit of parts.
