Abstract:
An athletic training system includes one or more panels that present a rigid front surface covered by a translucent material behind which is an illumination or light source and a pressure sensor that can detect and measure the pressure caused by impact of a ball (i.e. a soccer ball). A control device communicates with and controls the panels according to a selected exercise regimen that is designed to develop particular skills for an athletic or sporting endeavor by commanding the panel or panels to illuminate (i.e. turn on its light source). While illuminated, the panel actively monitors its pressure sensor for an indication of an impact, and upon detecting an impact, reports the detection of the impact to the control device, and turns off its illumination. The process of turning panels on and off and detecting impact can be used to construct various regimens for training and developing skills.

Abstract:
Apparatus for football training is provided which includes a circular wall having an inward facing surface to support rebound of a football, which has been struck in a radial direction against this surface, back along said radial direction towards the centre of the circular wall. Multiple target indications are provided at respective angular locations around the circular wall. The apparatus has a control system for activating a series of target indications in sequence, and a monitoring system for determining whether the inward facing surface of the wall has been struck at the angular location corresponding to an activated target indication.
Abstract:
Provided is a balance training system for improving postural control of a user by providing visual feedback regarding the user's center of mass (CoM) to the user on a display. The balance training system includes a balance improvement module connected to the display, and a first sensor which captures information about a position of the user with respect to a platform of the balance training system on which platform the user is moving and which provides the captured information to the balance improvement module. The balance improvement module is configured to extract CoM information of the user from the captured information, to compare the extracted CoM information with a target area for the user's CoM on the platform, and to provide results of the comparison to the display for displaying the results to the user.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for translating gross human movement into electronic signals and therapeutic, training, or educational uses for the system. An exercising or video gaming system, comprising: a floor pad controller, and a striking controller. The floor pad controller having force sensor(s) and/or placement sensor(s) arranged in a pattern in the plane of a ground or floor. The striking controller having force sensor(s) and contact sensor(s) arranged in an curved grid between the outer layer of the striking controller and an inner core. Applying force to any sensor(s) in the floor pad controller or striking controller executes an action in response to an instruction from the exercising or video gaming system; and an inner core returnably coupled to a ground or floor of a room, so that the striking controller returns to an upright position after being struck by the user.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to target assembly for receiving a golf ball comprising a plurality of parallel golf ball receiving elongate channels; each channel having substantially the same width as the other channels and each channel comprising a plurality of discrete golf ball receiving zones. That the channels may be adjusted and adapted to provide one or more consolidated target for players to aim for on the golf ball putting practice device. The sub-divisions of each channel and the plurality of channels form a grid structure. By assigning different scores to the different sub-divisions of each channel, one or indeed multiple targets can be formed. These targets can be then altered to prevent 'muscle memory' effects from assisting a player to achieve a high score.
Abstract:
The present inventions relate to golf gaming systems and methods for evaluating a golfer's performance and facilitating golf gaming and competition. Specifically, The present invention provides methods, locations, installations, devices and systems adapted and arranged for observing, processing, analyzing and communicating data and images of individual or group golf gaming performance with respect to golf balls in play in three- dimensional environments.
Abstract:
Provided is an analysis system of golf ball and club head data using lasers and 4-axis light sensing. The analysis system includes a horizontal sensor array, a vertical sensor array, a control unit, and a display unit. The horizontal sensor array is installed on a floor and includes a plurality of light sensors arranged in straight lines a predetermined distance apart from each other. The horizontal sensor array receives light from a light source installed thereabove so as to detect the silhouette of a golf ball or a club head according to movements of the golf ball or club head. The vertical sensor array is installed to protrude from a floor at a perpendicularly offset angle, in order to receive a laser beam from a laser installed to a rear thereof and detect the silhouette of the golf ball when the golf ball passes through the laser beam. The control unit derives position coordinates of the golf ball in space using data of the silhouette of the golf ball detected by the horizontal and vertical sensor arrays, and calculates a ball speed, a club head speed, a ball directional angle, a ball launch angle, a club head path, a sidespin, and a flight distance, using the position coordinates of the golf ball. The display unit displays the calculations on a screen according to controlling by the control unit. The analysis system detects the flight of a golf ball after it is struck in a practice range, calculates ball speed, flight distance, direction, initial angle, trajectory, landing point, etc. and shows this data in terms of an image and numbers on a screen, and provides a detailed, three-dimensional graph showing the trajectory of the ball against a background image of a golf course, so that the user who hit the ball can easily see the analysis results.
Abstract:
Mat for sport and games for detecting impact position of a movable object such as a ball. The mat comprises an outer and an inner layer, each with inlays of electrically conductive elements forming a pressure-sensitive switch distributed over the target area. The pressure-sensitive switches communicate with electronic circuits for indicating, processing and presentation of electrical signals when the switches are activated by a ball impact.
