The invention relates to a facial muscle trainer for training facial muscles of a person. The facial muscle trainer comprising an U-shaped spring element (1) having a first leg portion (2), a second leg portion (3), and a connection portion (4) between the first leg portion (2) and the second leg portion (3), a first actuator (5) arranged at the first leg portion (2), and a second actuator (6) arranged at the second leg portion (3). The first actuator (5) is formed by a first groove portion (13) formed between a first ridge portion (15) and a second ridge portion (16) formed on the first outer surface (11) at the first free end (7) of the first leg portion (2) of the U-shaped spring element (1), and by the second actuator (6) is formed by a second groove portion (14) formed between a third ridge portion (17) and a fourth ridge portion (18) formed on a second outer surface (12) at the second free end (8) of the second leg portion (3) of the U-shaped spring element (1).

An exercise machine for performing triceps press exercises, including a moving user support that supports the user in a seated position. The exercise machine includes a linkage assembly that allows the user support to tilt as the user performs a triceps press exercise. As the user extends his or her arms from the exercise starting position to the exercise ending position, the user support frame— and thus the user's torso— reclines progressively backwards. The user's natural reaction to this reclining sensation is to bring his or her head forward, which encourages the user to plant his or her lower back firmly into a stable position against the back pad and in turn reduces the risk of injury associated with excessively arching of the lower back.

A novel trampoline having a rigid frame (100) with spaced apart first support members (150) that extend above a jumping mat (200). The mat (200) is suspended above the frame (100) by a plurality of second support members (400). The second support members (400) are connected to upper ends (152) of the first support members (150) by resiliently flexible spring members (300). The resiliently flexible spring members (300) provide a trampoline spring effect, from above, to users jumping on the mat (200). The second support members (400) can also be integral with a safety net (500) to support and tension the safety net (500) above the mat (200).

A method of performing exercise movements utilizesan elongated flexible member having a relaxed position in which the elongated flexible member has a generally arcuate shape. In the method, one end of the elongated flexible member is supported in a substantially fixed position. An opposite end of the elongated flexible member is manipulated such that the opposite end is brought toward the one end substantially in a first plane. With this manipulation, the elongated flexible member is displaced from the relaxed position to a flexed position. The opposite end of the elongated flexible member is rotated in a second plane, different from the first plane, while maintaining the elongated flexible member in the flexed position. In a related method, both ends of the elongated flexible member can be manipulated to the flexed position.

A device and method are disclosed for training the abdominal muscles of a user in an upright position. The device and method are configured to lead the upper torso of the user while bending along a preferred path, so that the backbone is bent in a proper manner causing a proper training of the abdominal muscles.

Les sources de résistance offertes par les appareils de conditionnement physique sont soit lourdes, volumineuse, ou n'offrent pas une résistance variable, constante et précise. Dans la présente invention, un appareil léger et compact, offrant également des plateaux de résistance, permet de sélectionner une résistance désirée, en engageant ou désengageant une ou des sources de résistances, soit des ressorts à compression, ou à extention, ou à torsion ; ou des tiges flexibles, ou des bandes extensibles. La résistance est transmise à un ruban par un système d'engrenages. Le ruban est enroulé à l'intérieur de l'appareil et on a accès à une de ses extrémités. Les différents diamètres des engrenages réduisent les nombreux tours de la pièce sur laquelle est enroulé le ruban, en une fraction de tour des derniers engrenages, ceux-ci liés à une source de résistance propre et créant une résistance constante et précise.
