Bei einem Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Gussanlage (1) mit Gusszyklen wird vorgeschlagen, dass in einem Gusszyklus Gussmasse in eine Gussform (2) eingebracht wird, die Gussmasse zu einem Gussteil erstarrt und anschließend der Gussteil aus der Gussform (2) entformt wird, wobei vor und/oder während des Einbringens der Gussmasse in die Gussform (2) die Gussform (2) in einem Evakuierungsschritt von einer Vakuumanlage (3) evakuiert wird, wobei ein erster Luftstrom aus der Gussform (2) durch ein Filtersystem (4) umfassend einen Grobfilter (5) und einen Feinfilter (6) angesaugt wird, wobei ein Großteil an festen Verunreinigungen aus dem ersten Luftstrom sich an dem Grobfilter (5) angelagert wird, wobei außerhalb der Gusszyklen in einem Spülschritt ein zweiter Luftstrom in einer, dem ersten Luftstrom entgegengesetzten, Richtung durch das Filtersystem (4) geblasen wird und die an dem Grobfilter (5) angelagerten festen Verunreinigungen im Wesentlichen vollständig entfernt und ausgeschieden werden. Weiters wird ein Filtersystem (4) für dieses Verfahren sowie eine Gussanlage (1) vorgeschlagen.
