Abstract:
A basket includes a net apparatus having an annular structure and netting. The basket also includes an annular bottom piece having a top and defining a slot having a vertical portion and a horizontal portion and an annular cavity for receiving the annular structure of the net apparatus. The basket also includes an annular top piece having a horizontal component and a vertical component coupled to the horizontal component and that includes a tab for coupling to the vertical portion of the slot. The adaptable basket can be assembled by positioning the annular structure of the net apparatus within the annular cavity of the annular bottom piece, positioning the annular top piece above the annular bottom piece such that the tab is received by the vertical portion of the slot, and rotating the annular top piece such that the tab rotates away from the vertical portion of the slot.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for separating solid food matter from a received mixture comprising water and solid food matter, the apparatus comprising a filtering mesh and one or more fluid sources, the filtering mesh being configured to allow passage of water therethrough and to inhibit passage of at least some of the solid food matter therethrough, and the one or more fluid sources being configured to direct fluid onto the received mixture comprising water and solid food matter and/or onto a mixture comprising water and solid food matter which has passed through the filtering mesh.
Abstract:
A fluid reservoir (128) includes a reservoir (128) body (274) forming a reservoir volume (204) and a header opening (222). A header (202) seals the header opening (222) and includes at least a heater (212) disposed within the reservoir volume (204) and a fluid draw conduit (106). A bag filter (240) is connected to the header (202) such that it completely encloses the heater (212) and the fluid draw conduit (106) such that, when fluid is drawn from the reservoir volume (204) through the sump (218) location, the fluid is filtered by the bag filter (240)
Abstract:
A filter providing dual paths through a coarse filter medium and a fine filter medium attaches the coarse filter medium to the fine filter medium directly eliminating an intervening supporting structure and simplifying manufacture.
Abstract:
A tank for use in a system that outputs a liquid at a user defined constant temperature in order to regulate the temperature of a piece of equipment includes a body of material having a top wall and a plurality of other walls which collectively define a chamber for receiving and storing the liquid. The top wall of the body of material has a manual fill port for pouring new fluid into the chamber and one of the other walls includes an outlet port for discharging fluid stored in the chamber. An auto-refill port is located on the manual fill port and a return fluid port is located on the auto refill port. The body of material further includes a well which extends down into the chamber from an opening in top wall of the tank and which can be removed. The well is sized to accommodate a deionizer cartridge. When the well is removed, either a heater or an immersion pump can be disposed within the chamber. A bag filter is removably mounted at the bottom of the fill port and filters liquid entering the chamber from the fill port. A sight gauge is partially imbedded in the body of rigid material and in communication with the bottom of the chamber for providing a visual indication of the level of the liquid in the chamber port and a flow velocity reducer is disposed in the auto-fill port downstream of where liquid enters the auto-refill port from the return fluid port for reducing the velocity of the liquid entering the auto-refill port from the return fluid port and then passing into the manual fill port so that the liquid entering the manual fill port does not spray or splash onto the walls of the manual fill port. A cover assembly is removably mounted on the manual fill port and includes a funnel shaped cover and a removably sealing plug.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for removing fine particulate matter from a fluid stream without interrupting the overall process or flow. The flowing fluid inflates and expands the flexible filter, and particulate is deposited on the filter media while clean fluid is permitted to pass through the filter. This filter is cleaned when the fluid flow is stopped, the filter collapses, and a force is applied to distort the flexible filter media to dislodge the built-up filter cake. The dislodged filter cake falls to a location that allows undisrupted flow of the fluid after flow is restored. The shed particulate is removed to a bin for periodic collection. A plurality of filter cells can operate independently or in concert, in parallel, or in series to permit cleaning the filters without shutting off the overall fluid flow. The self-cleaning filter is low cost, has low power consumption, and exhibits low differential pressures.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for generating a low tar, renewable fuel gas from biomass and using it in other energy conversion devices, many of which were designed for use with gaseous and liquid fossil fuels. An automated, downdraft gasifier incorporates extensive air injection into the char bed to maintain the conditions that promote the destruction of residual tars. The resulting fuel gas and entrained char and ash are cooled in a special heat exchanger, and then continuously cleaned in a filter prior to usage in standalone as well as networked power systems.
Abstract:
A filter system for a container comprising a connector, an adjustable tube coupled to the connector and a filter coupled to said adjustable tube. The adjustable tube can be in the form of a corrugated tube or in the form of a telescoping tube. This system can be coupled to either the input or the output of a container.
