    摘要: Apparatus and systems for fluid storage containers are disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus and systems include the following: a pressure vessel including a fluid storage chamber defined by outer walls, the outer walls including a pressure relief aperture and a charge/discharge aperture; a pressure relief valve for automatically unsealing and sealing at least the pressure relief aperture, the pressure relief valve including a compressible body and a compression member, the compressible body including a first end proximate the pressure relief aperture and an opposite second end distal the pressure relief aperture and proximate the compression member; a floating plug valve assembly positioned in the charge/discharge aperture; and a coupling assembly configured to releasably connect with the floating plug valve assembly, wherein fluids in the pressure vessel flow in and out of the pressure vessel during refilling and dispensing via the floating plug valve and the coupling assembly.

    摘要: A filter assembly (30) includes housing body (32) and a cover (34) enclosing a replaceable filter element (36). A support core (36) in the housing body (32) includes an extension and locking assembly (70). The element (36) includes a ring of filtration media (120) with a pair of end caps (114, 122). One end cap (122) includes a central opening (124) such that the element (36) can be received over the support core (56). The extension and locking assembly (70) operates to prevent the cover (34) from being attached to the housing body (32) without a proper filter element installed. The extension and locking assembly (70) includes a bypass member (76) and a locking member (74), which are slideably located relative to each other and spring biased outwardly from the support core (56). The locking member (74) urges the bypass member (76) against a step (68) in the support core (56) to maintain the extension and locking assembly (70) in an outward position. The other end cap (114) of the filter element includes internal protrusions (116) which engage the locking member (74) when the filter element (36) is installed in the housing body (32) to disengage the bypass member (76) from the support core (56), and allow the bypass member (76) and locking member (74) to move inwardly into the housing body (32). The filter element (36) can be located in a fluid-tight, incineratable storage container (164). The storage container (164) includes a cup-shaped body (166) and a lid (168), which are easily connectable to each other. The body (166) can be used to remove a spent element from the housing body (32), and includes a resilient retaining device (174) designed to engage and retain an appropriate part of the filter element (36).

    摘要: Pressure vessels having end closures for sealing at least one open end are constructed so as to provide full-bore access to a generally tubular shell portion wherein one or more filter cartridges will be disposed. A sealing ring (45) of rectangular cross section is seated in a groove provided in the tubular shell (15) at a location axially inward of a cylindrical surface region wherein a central annular groove is provided. A closure head (39) fits within this annular surface and includes a shoulder (73) which prevents insertion past the sealing ring (45). The head may be a 2-piece construction wherein a flanged and dished element having an inward facing convex surface of oblate spheroidal shape protrudes through the interior of the sealing ring and mates with a securing plate (41) having an annular notch in the periphery of its outer face that aligns with the groove in the tubular shell to create a pocket designed to receive a helical locking ring (79) in the form of a spring-like band of at least two revolutions that cannot be inadvertently removed when the vessel is pressurized. A bell-end configuration for the tubular shell is efficiently created from filament-reinforced polymeric resin through the use of a sacrificial insert that not only creates the seat for the sealing ring but also provides space to accommodate side flow fluid connections.

    摘要: A water filter assembly (22) mounted to an inner surface of a refrigerator (20) and accessible from within a refrigeration compartment of the refrigerator. The filter assembly (22) includes a first housing part (44), a second housing part (46), and a replaceable filter cartridge (42). The first and second housing parts cooperate to define a fluid-tight chamber for receipt of the filter cartridge (42). The first housing part includes an inlet port (56) through which unfiltered water may be introduced into the chamber and an outlet port (54) through which filtered water may exit the chamber. The second housing part surrounds a portion of the first housing part and provides a volume sufficient to hold the filter cartridge and any water within the chamber when the second housing part is released from the first housing part to replace the filter cartridge, and thereby prevents or minimizes spillage of water from the filter assembly during filter cartridge replacement. A shield member (38) is disposed within the refrigeration compartment and cooperates with a cabinet wall to define a filter compartment (39) which surrounds the filter assembly (22). A heater (41) disposed within the filter compartment (39) adjacent the filter assembly (22) and is operable to heat the filter assembly to prevent freezing of water contained therein.

The filter cartridge has no metal parts, and thus avoids the use of a metal center tube, or a center tube of any configuration. The housing (60) itself carries a permanent center tube (66). A sealing arrangement (50, 51) formed between the filter cartridge and the housing provides a radial seal isolating the outer periphery of the filter cartridge from the remainder thereof.
