Tissue dissociators configured to disrupt a biological tissue sample are provided. Aspects of the tissue dissociators may include a housing having a distal end and a proximal end, a cutting blade positioned at the distal end of the housing and a tissue actuator configured to be displaced along a longitudinal axis within the housing. Also provided are methods of using the tissue dissociators, as well as kits including the tissue dissociators.

An apparatus for comminuting biological specimens includes a receiving component (12) provided with a drive source (16, 18), a sample retainer (52) configured for retaining at least one biological specimen and for engagement in the receiving component, and a single use comminution mechanism (66, 68, 70) in operational relationship with the sample retainer. The drive source is configured for driving the comminution mechanism. A collector (42) is associated with the receiving component (12) for receiving comminuted product generated by the comminution mechanism.

An active ingredient, such as particles of a pharmaceutical agent, is uniformly distributed within a transdermal vehicle, such as a gel or other viscous material. The method comprises filling said first container with a non-uniform mixture of a transdermal vehicle and said active ingredient, mounting the first container on a support member, and securing a second container to the first container. The first container has a restricted opening at its proximal end and a piston mounted movably within the first container for movement between a first position proximate said first container distal end to a position proximate said first container proximal end. The second container has a restricted opening at its proximal end and a piston mounted movably within the first container for movement from a first position proximate the second container distal end to a position proximate said second container proximal end. The first container restricted opening and said second container restricted openings are in open communication. The first container's piston is moved from its position proximate the distal end to a position proximate the proximal end and thereby forcing said mixture from the first container into said second container. The positions of the first and second container relative to said support member, are reversed and the process is repeated moving the mixture back and forth between the two containers until a uniform mixture is achieved.

Die Lebensmittelzerkleinerungsvorrichtung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Antriebseinrichtung wahlweise zuschaltbar oder abschaltbar ist und/oder dass die Unterstützungskraft der Antriebseinrichtung einstellbar ist.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Zerkleinerung von Mahlgut zu Partikeln von einer möglichst definierten Partikelgröße und Partikelgrößenverteilung in einer besseren Ausbeute. Die Vorrichtung umfasst zumindest ein oberes Mahlaggregat und ein unteres Mahlaggregat, wobei zumindest eines der Mahlaggregate mit einem oder mehreren Hubelement (en) in Wirk Verbindung steht und wobei zumindest ein Mahlaggregat zumindest einen Siebeinsatz enthält. Der Siebeinsatz umfasst zumindest ein Mahlsieb (3) auf einem Siebträger (2) wobei Mahlsieb und Siebträger getrennte Einheiten sind, die sich in zumindest einer Raumrichtung relativ zueinander bewegen können.

The head moves the handle from a horizontal to a vertical position. The cam is mounted inside a ram which slideably moves axially from a raised position in the head when the handle is vertical to a lowered position when horizontal. The ram includes a crushing surface. The head includes a slot for a pill in a pouch to be inserted.
