Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Spannvorrichtung zur Kopplung eines Bohrwerkzeugs (3) mit einer Bohrmaschine (1) umfassend eine einen Bodenbereich (10.1) aufweisende Ausnehmung (10), in die abschnittsweise das Bohrwerkzeug (3) freiendseitig einsetzbar ist. Dabei sind erste Spannmittel (S1) zum Einspannen des Bohrwerkzeugs (3) in der Ausnehmung (10) vorgesehen, die derart ausgebildet sind, dass ein freies Ende des Bohrwerkzeugs (3) an den Bodenbereich (10.1) der Ausnehmung (10) angepresst wird.

The present invention relates to the field of industrial cutting machines and cutting tools therefore. In one particular aspect the present invention relates to a method and system for quickly changing cutting tools in computer controlled cutting machines, in a first aspect of embodiments described herein there is provided a mechanism for retaining a cutting tool of a cutting machine, the mechanism having a longitudinal axis substantially perpendicular to a cutting surface, the mechanism comprising a mount associated with the cutting machine, a holder for a cutting tool, a retaining device for removably attaching the holder to the mount, wherein the retaining device is adapted to bias the holder in the direction of the longitudinal axis.

A power tool adaptor for holding a tool adapted thereto, such as a reversible tool bit holder, is disclosed, comprising an adaptor body, a tool insertion cavity formed in an end of the adaptor body for receiving the tool, an elongated tool bit insertion cavity formed as a continuation of the tool insertion cavity, means for fixating the tool by protruding into one or more fixation recesses on the outer surface of the tool and means for attaching the power tool adaptor to a power tool, such as a power drill tool. Furthermore, a reversible tool bit holder for holding two changeable tool bits, which reversible tool bit holder is adapted to fit into the power tool adaptor, and a kit comprising a power tool adaptor and a reversible tool bit holder adapted to fit into the power tool adaptor is disclosed.

A surgical instrument for the dissection of bone and other tissue includes a spindle (146), a dissection tool (18) and a male member carried (162) by the spindle. The spindle includes a cavity (160). The dissection tool is releasably received in the cavity. The dissection tool extends along an axis and includes a first end and a second end with the first end having a cutting element (20) and a second end (21) having a generally cylindrical cross-section and a centrally located aperture (180) partially extending along the axis. The male member is carried by the spindle and extends into the aperture of the dissection tool. The cavity may define a drive portion and a tool receiving aperture. One or more alignment projections (148) may extend from the drive portion into the tool receiving aperture.

A bit holder has a shank at a proximal end thereof and a blind bit-accepting hole at a distal end thereof, shaped to receive a correspondingly-shaped tool bit. The bit holder has at least one locking mechanism which includes an angled path defined in the bit holder, opening into a side of the bit-accepting hole, extending away from the bit- accepting hole in a proximal direction at an acute angle A from a central axis. A locking element is slideable in the path. A sleeve around the shank is biased towards the bit-accepting hole by a spring, such that a distal end of the locking element extends slightly into the bit-accepting hole. Moving the sleeve towards the proximal end of the bit holder retracts the locking element from the bit-accepting hole, thereby releasing the bit. A spring-loaded plunger in the blind hole may be used to eject the bit automatically when the locking mechanism is released by the sleeve.

A connector having at least one open end and an elongated slot with a floor and a pin guide through the floor is further disclosed. The pin guide is open to the inside of the connector. Between the sleeve and the slot is a pin having a pin head visible through the elongated guide and two opposing spring arms of a size and shape to fit in said slot, and a pin body which movable fits in side pin guide.

A drilling machine including a chassis and a primary rod box mounted on the chassis, which includes a rod box interface mechanism positioned adjacent a top of the primary rod box for facilitating interfacing the primary rod box with a supplemental rod box is provided. Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to a rod box interface mechanism that automatically secures a rod box to a drilling machine as the rod box is lowered in place on the drilling machine. The rod box interface mechanism can in some embodiments be used to secure a supplemental rod box to a top of a primary rod box that is attached to a chassis of the drilling machine and can be used to secure a rod box directly to the chassis of the drilling machine. A further aspect of the present disclosure relates to self-aligning features intended to guide a rod box into place on a drilling machine as the rod box is lowered onto the drilling machine.

A locator screw hole (60) extends radially through the first member. The second member is formed with a conical face (38) having a centerline perpendicular to its longitudinal centerline. A locator screw (72) is threaded into the locator screw hole in the first member. The locator screw includes a conical nose (78) adapted to engage the conical face of the second member when the locator screw is turned in a first direction. The locator screw cooperates with the conical face of the second member to radially locate the second member with respect to the first member.
