An apparatus for trimming flash from a workpiece (12). The apparatus includes a platen (14) which supports the workpiece (12), an operator (16) including a cylinder having telescoping components (56, 64, 68, 70) for imparting movement to the platen (14). A plurality of rods (20, 22, 24, 26) for guiding movement and trimming units (18) comprising a cavity and a plurality of cutting blades (126) movable into and out of the cavity for trimming flash from the workpiece (12) when presented to the cavity by the platen (14). Since the workpiece (12) is presented to the cavity the trimming units (18) do not require complex structure for their support and movement as would be the case if supported at the loading position.

The present disclosure relates to a deburring tool head. The deburring tool head of the present disclosure is of a generally conical configuration having at least one arcuate portion between two operative ends having an algebraic manifold, at least one flute on said arcuate portion having two cutting edges on the inner surface and outer surface of said arcuate portion. The deburring tool head of the present disclosure is also reversibly usable for deburring the inner diameter as well as the outer diameter of a workpiece.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Entbartervorrichtung (1) zum mechanischen Entfernen eines beim Autogenbrennschneiden an der Unterseite eines stranggegossenen Werkstückes (9) entstehenden Bartes (10). Auf einer rotierenden Welle (4) ist mindestens ein Rotationskörper (12) angeordnet, an dessen Umfang eine Mehrzahl zueinander beabstandete, radial nach außen gerichtete schalentassen- oder topfartige Halterungen (16) mit jeweils einem Innengewinde (17) angeordnet sind. In jede dieser Halterungen (16) ist eine spiralförmige Druckfeder (18) bestimmter Länge mit viereckigem Federdrahtquerschnitt radial nach außen gerichtet eingesetzt, wobei die Form, Abmessungen und Steigung des Innengewindes (17) der Halterung (16) der Form, Abmessungen und Steigung des Federdrahtes der Druckfeder (18) entsprechen.

A rotary file (10) includes a body (14) having first and second ends with an outer surface comprising at least one cutting edge, a shank (12) extending from the first end of the body (14) which is adapted to be mounted in a rotary tool and a pilot (IS) extending from the second end of the body (14), the pilot (16) defining an annular peripheral surface (22) with an arcuate cross-section. An apparatus (figure 7) for deburring the edges of machined features includes such a rotary file (10) and a spindle (28) that is resiliently deflectable away from a nominal axis of rotation. A method of deburring using the apparatus is disclosed wherein the rotary file (10) is moved along a preprogrammed tool-path.

Das vorgesehene Verfahren und spanabhebende Werkzeug dienen zur Herstellung einer passgenauen, zylindrischen Bohrung mit hoher Oberflächengüte und einer Länge, die ein Vielfaches des Durchmessers betragen kann, aus einer bestehenden Bohrung mit einer Fertigbearbeitungszugabe. Um die Dauer der Fertigbearbeitung mittels Reibahle zu verkürzen, wird der Einsatz eines Werkzeugs in Form eines Stoßstempels (10) vorgeschlagen, der am vorderen Ende mit einer kreisrunden oder im Wesentlichen kreisrunden Schneidkante 14 ausgebildet ist, deren Durchmesser dem Nenndurchmesser der herzustellenden Bohrung entspricht, und der sich, beginnend unmittelbar hinter der Schneidkante (14) oder hinter einem vorderen Bereich (16) bestimmter Länge, verjüngt.
